VIDEO. UN: LOKI

[ comfortable on a cushy chair, surrounded by a few stacks of books that would make the leaning tower of Pisa jelly, Loki looks somewhat comfortable among the ranks of tomes and paperbacks. ]

Yes, hello—now that we're no longer in mortal peril, nor running for our lives in a illusion to be tested, nor feeling the horrible pang of hunger, etcetera etcetera. [ there's a twist of his fingers, as if he's dismissing it. ]

I'd like to take a moment to urge you to visit your local library. There are several titles to explore for those with inquiring minds. Learning about other bits and pieces of the multiverse is intriguing and necessary in such mandatory occupation such as ours.

[ a dark nailed hand slips beneath the right lapel of his jacket, fingers flicking out with a square of paper, which he deftly unfolds between them. ] I have a list of recommendations, including the following: A Midsummer Night's Madness, The Last Two Bachelors, My Sexiest Mistake, and Darling Cat. Oh, and the Forbidden series, of course.

Some do get a bit, ah ... racy, but reading is important, and we all are long overdo for a break. Treat yourself to forbidden love, unbound desires, all sprinkled with a little bit of scandal. Everyone loves a good scandal. [ someone is pleased about the possibility of it, at least. ]

A book club may be in order. I'm open to suggestions from those who've had the time between tasks and ... erm, well, tasks, I suppose. [ he toys with the paper edge of the nearest book. ]

Oh, no thanks. I was hoping it might be different from the library in Camelot, which was always dusty and you couldn't even look at the books without old Geoffrey staring over your shoulder half the time.

[Merlin shakes his head. But then he stops, expression changing like he might be reconsidering.]

Though I was hoping to find a book about something...

It's not exactly fiction - well, some of the stories might be. But the person is most definitely real. Maybe you could help me.

[Loki, you are the librarian, aren't you?]

His name's Date Masamune - he was on the network not long ago. Apparently there are stories about him. I thought I might read some if I could find them.

And if not, that one about the cat sounds entertaining.

[and here he was picturing an actual cat. imagine his surprise.]

He's a dai-myo - a sort of lesser warrior king, as he described it. He's only a few years older than I am, and he said that since his arrival, people have told him about these great things that they've read about him doing, things that he's supposedly done. Only he hasn't done any of them yet.

So he doesn't believe them, and I can understand that. Still, he's young, there's plenty of time. And ALASTAIR manages to end up with plenty of amazing people. I wanted to read some of it for myself if possible, while I could.
