It is an interesting idea... to attempt to bring about change like it will be beneficial in the long run. So many people seem to think so, but how many of them are actually right? Oh, do not take that as words of war. I have no intention of going against the will of these people. I appreciate the cold and calculated way that they think, after all.

But on another matter, a little tame dragon found itself within my beak. It would be wise for those who understand my words to keep him out of trouble. His roar has become so quiet. If no one understands, then I suppose he shall remain a pet.

Though, that is not necessarily a negative outcome for me.

What a wordsmith you are. I had expected more for all that talk, but it seems your view of treasure is far narrower than I had hoped.

[She would be bothered by those words normally- as Sieglinde. But the Green Witch is not.]

I am disappointed, Sir Owl.

There are many types of treasures in this world, are there not, Sir Owl? Ones meant to be displayed and those meant to be hidden- those that lose their brilliance to the light of the sun and those which are kept preserved in darkness. After all, a weapon to kill can be called a treasure just as easily as an eldest son or a priceless vase.

Without knowing what mine is, you cannot judge me miserly for keeping it locked away. In fact, some treasures are meant for the fate you speak of. It will rot and decay as all things in this world eventually do- as will you and I. Whether body, mind, or treasure goes first, well.

That is another matter entirely.

[If there's a little twitch in the corner of her eye at the word "walk", well. It's probably his imagination, right?]

It seems we won't understand each other after all- I shall not be surprised. Expecting such of every recruit ALASTAIR brings here would be foolish. I also won't be surprised that those older than me continue to use the word "child" when they do not wish to continue thinking.

It's an easy out, I can't say I don't understand the appeal.

Do enjoy your attempts on the wurm. It will likely prove interesting in one way or another.

I misunderstand little, for I speak exclusively of neither. I need no pity from owls or men who consider themselves so very wise.

[It's her turn to scoff, waving a hand. It may be an act, it may not be- to her credit, it's difficult to tell.]

We are all caged. Last I checked no winged beast does well in that situation, let alone on its own, so do mind your own self as well. You certainly won't make many allies at this rate.

Yet even they want for mates and young once a certain time comes.

[But her expression hardens, and not for the repeated condemnations of "child" she has grown to hate so much.]

Do not mistake me. You will not find me at the side of a man such as that, and you can summon no worry from me with such words.

And to think it is usually said otherwise. Your advice is noted.

[And discarded. But noted nonetheless.]
