If you've got the kind of power that you can do that, why not simply put a tracker on it? Cleaner, less chance of blowing a hole in the side of our communal dorm arrangement. Or are explosives all you can do?

You assume I care more about "blowing holes" in things than I do about my gold.

A tracking spell is far too wasteful and would take way too much time to set, even considering if I was up to my normal energy levels. A detonation charm would do just as well.

And what about, oh I don't know, making the damn thing scream if someone other than you picks it up? Or just gets hot enough to burn a hole in someone's pocket?

Really, this is just self-preservation. I don't want to find out once we get back to Oska that your room is right above mine by coming home to a big old hole in the ceiling or something.
