Of course now that possibility has both crossed his mind and been proven true in the same split second, he can feel that usual flame of excitement creep up on him again. Being stranded away from home with no clear way back is a strange, discomforting feeling. Being stranded away from home with no clear way back and discovering your rival is here too? That's a little different.
It becomes full of possibility. The chance for battles without the responsibilities of ongoing warfare and conquest to consider. And that is exciting in and of itself. That might be clear in his voice when he replies.]

With Yukimura here, though— that lack of war, of responsibility, of purpose means all he has is his goal right in front of him. The obstacles and barricades are gone.
His excitement is not quite as obvious (at least, not any more than it was with his first message, but that's probably because Kojuro will hit him if he gets riled up and misfires any electricity in the area). BUT STILL--
