MASS TEXT; USERNAME: HAWKEYE

[In the end, she opts for the efficiency of a brief written message. (The message functionality of the jewelry still amazes her from time to time, but she's becoming increasingly fond of how fast it makes communication with others.)]

My name is Riza Hawkeye. I'm a military officer from the nation of Amestris. [Vague credentials, for anyone that really needs them.] There are a lot of us here gathered from different places and times, with different skills and areas of knowledge. I've spoken with a few others and we've agreed it would be beneficial for all of us to have a database of skills to pull from, both for this mission and otherwise.

[Most likely 'otherwise'; she can't be the only one suspicious of ALASTAIR after what happened in Anwick.]

If you're willing to provide a brief listing of the skills you possess, magical [because that's a thing that exists, apparently??] or otherwise, it would be greatly appreciated. If you're uncomfortable using the communications device I'm also happy to meet with you in person.

[And if you're not willing that's cool too. Everyone's got their secrets.]

If I must. We are all working together after all. Keeping secrets in this situation would be counterproductive.

And ALASTAIR certainly has not indicated otherwise. I do, however, need to find some way to obtain merchandise before I can safely say I sell it. If nothing else, I have a keen eye for appraisal as well.

Under normal circumstances, I would be unauthorized to do so. However, I do not consider the work I am doing for ALASTAIR to be the same as the work I do for my usual organization. So I see nothing wrong with sharing my findings. I admit I have not found as much as I would like yet, though. Is there anything in particular you wish to know about?

Hmm... the smithy here makes some very high quality pieces. I usually prefer more unique weapons, but if I could obtain distribution rights, his works would make a fine addition to my inventory.

Not much. I suppose I could start small and start moving upwards. Sometimes a story sells a weapon more than the actual blade, if you know how to spin it.

I must admit I have not had much chance to analyze the goblins yet. However, there has been an interesting rumor circulating that one of the elders at the church has been spotted using some form of healing magic. I have attempted to witness the same for myself, but have had no luck yet.

Or at least not kept above board. The question of whether it does or does not exist, however, is a central one to our investigation here, I believe.

Either/or. If magic doesn't exist at all, then other means are being used to block the sun. If magic does exist, but not in the hands of who they claim uses it, then somebody is using the goblins as a convenient scapegoat.

Of course, there's also the possibility that we take the humans' ideas at face value. But no matter how you look at it, magic is a key element.
