[ If it sounds like Alice is daycare, there's a good reason for it. She looks a little tired and very confused. There's a good number of children around her and one decides to plop themselves on her lap.

Hello, there. Can you stand, just for a minute? It shan't take long, then you can sit in my lap all you want.

[ She shoos him along. Alice heaves a deep sigh, holding her face.] ]

For a small minute, I thought I was back in London. Possibly because I have been around a large number of children, this many, with same limited resources.

I suppose my question is, is there a particular reason why I came back to over a dozen or so children? Not that I mind it, although I wouldn't be opposed to having a bigger space.

[ Yes, when did this happen? Alice has forgotten some tidbits of that fight, after all. ]

Doesn't seem to be hindering you, though. [they seems to really like her that's for sure. ]

Caring for children was once my profession. But there is a man out there who is going to be earning stern words from me for sending them to me, that is for certain.

[inroad]

[ is glad he's not that guy. ]

He get carried away or just not tell you? You sound like the ideal candidate if someone didn't know how to take care of a kid.

[digophelia]

[ There's a sign of hesitation from her as she hears this. Ideal candidate? She still doesn't think she did enough to save the children she used to care for. ]

He may have not been entirely sober or been in his right mind. Actually, the latter would make sense -- maybe he is really mad.

[inroad]

[ it's because she gets along with them easily that he thinks this; children are hot and cold and them being able to warm up to the person taking care of them fast is vital. he'd probably still think her the same if he knew about the situation that causes her internal reservations. Which, by the way, he does notice her hesitation, but considering he doesn't even know this girl's name, there's no way he's going to even hint at the fact he noticed.

Masamune blinks, thinking a moment before just assuming from the two descriptors the only person he can think of. ]

Ah. So it's that guy.

[digophelia]

[ She wishes she could be surprised when she hears this. ]

So you've met him, too.

Sure did. He's a hard one to miss.

[ for definitely more reasons than one, that's for sure. ] Friend of yours?

[digophelia]

[ Alice rolls her eyes at the idea. ]

Good heavens no.

[inroad]

Not your type, huh. [ he says it thoughtfully, pretty sure as he thinks on it how they probably would indeed not mesh together. Then again maybe she's a tsundere it would also make sense. ]

What're you gonna do with all of them?

[digophelia]

I don't take too kindly to men who try and hurt me.

[ She wishes she could take them all in, but her mind is not in the best state. ]

I'm going to make sure that they're returned safely home, if needed be.

[inroad]

[ he's not going to pry but he does take note of this. He isn't exactly surprised to hear this all things considered, but it does raise a few questions. He'll have to keep those to himself, though. ]

Who can blame you for it? [ he folds his arms across his chest considering. ] well, if you need help with that part, since you have so many, let me know.

[ Masamune makes sure to clarify he doesn't think she's incapable of handling it herself, merely that she has a pretty good quantity to handle. ]

Ah, if only others in London were more agreeable.

[ But it's true -- those in London who knew of her past would say a lot of things, and some not so good. ]

I appreciate the offer, sir. You are welcome to help; I am speaking to someone else and we will see to the ones with homes and families to their rightful house. The orphans are my greatest concern -- they'll have have to be taken to authorities and hopefully there is a somewhat decent orphanage for them.

Date Masamune. [ she can call him sir if she wants but it's rude to withold that information now that she's directly addressed him and lacked his name to go by. also, if he's going to help her out, introductions are a good start. ]

These kids new orphans or just running the streets and caught up in the mess...?

[digophelia]

Alice Liddell. And the children are bit of both, actually. Some do have homes and some are orphans. Regardless, they got caught up on the streets.

[inroad]

Guess we'll just solve it however necessary for them, then.

[ no shortcuts when little kids are involved ]

[digophelia]

They'll appreciate it, more than you can possibly know. Children appreciate things more than adults ever will.

[inroad]

...Your point of view on people is something I can really get behind. How good.

[digophelia]

What do you mean "how good"? I would hope so, even the ingrate that left them in my care was concerned for them.

[inroad]

What I mean is that it's rare to have similar connecting views, especially in a stranger so early. [ his engrish doesn't always make very much sense where it's used, that's for sure. Then again back home not many people can understand it to begin with. ]

[digophelia]

I had a feeling.

[ She offers up a soft, sincere smile in return. ]

It is very sad, but more importantly, it's good to know others are just as concerned. What is your name, sir?

It's nice to meet you, Mister... [ An awkward pause here. ] Mister Masamune.

[ She tries to repeat his name to the best of her ability. ]

[ omg that's adorable. he really appreciates it, though, and it's clear he is more than happy with her pronunciation.

On the flip side, she has a very western name, and she's going to get her name mostly pronunced 'Aris' by him; he's good enough that he can avoid the typical asian accent of su being present in his voice, but it's still definitely going to have a different sound than someone who is native to english. ]

Just Alice is okay? [ she's polite, he has no reason to ignore that and not offer the extra courtesy in addressing her if she prefers it. ] I feel the same of you.
