[ she just laughs a little at that. ]

[ she tries to smile, but it comes out more as a grimace. ]

I guess I was also... bit by one of those bugs...

[ but she is so sweet -- still to say that would probably come off as he feels when people say that he could not be as embarrassing as he says that he was. ]

[ she blinks, and then hastily waves her hand to dismiss his worries. ]

Oh — Oh no, not here...! I don't think it had anything to do with ALASTAIR at all... It was the future in my own world. [ she smiles weakly. ] I suppose I end up going back, sometime.

I wish I could say that is a good thing... no, it is a good thing.

With what you know, and the fact you have a kind king, I believe that you'll be able to fix what is wrong.

[winces]

[ her expression crumples at that. would it be right to tell him? that their kind king, her apparent future husband... that is was his early death that spiraled them all into the darkness her future self has come to know.

instead, she bites down on a lip. ]

P-Perhaps... [ she doesn't know much of timelines, and how they work. will she return, as serene had, with her memories intact? her future self hadn't... so who's to say she will? ]

[ A slight lowering of his shoulders. ]

Perhaps? [ Questing, hesitant. This seems as though it is something that weighs on her. While he thought at first her memories of being older were too embarrassing, he sees it is actually the opposite and -- his head gives a small tilt to attempt to give an impression of compassion, of worry. ]

Perhaps... this isn't the best place to ask this...

[winces]

[ she laughs then, rather suddenly. it is a high-pitched, almost squeaky sound, and entirely forced. ]

S-Sorry — I got off topic...! Um. I should — I should go now, actually, I didn't mean to take up so much of your time—
