The latter is no longer an option. Even this garbled communication takes more than he can give, and will exact its bloody price soon after. He has only moments before he loses himself entirely, so he works quickly, clasping his right hand over the rings on his left. The ALASTAIR jewelry. The gift, meant to help him, its crystal now nearly black. And the last one, meant to show home--showing, instead, nothing at all. ]
Don't --
[ He groans, his smoothly lilting voice now breathless, now rough with pain. There's the sound of squelching, of cracking bone. Something to help his lucidity. Somebody, really. An agonized shriek follows--not his own. ]

[ No. Not right. Not good enough. Another twist of the runeblade, another wet, shattering sound.
He half-growls, half-whimpers. Not much time, now. ]

Alright, who else is gonna help us? Or is it just us? First, we figure out where he might be and then we set up a patrol. If we have enough people, then we double up! Safety in numbers!!
