It's occurred to me that since our membership shifts and our backgrounds vary so much, it might be good to compare what we're capable of. More to the point, I was thinking we might be able to help each other pick up relevant skills, if not hone the ones we already have.

If people are looking to train or think they could help others, why don't we discuss that here? I know at least a few of us don't have backgrounds in combat, for example. On our first day here I met someone who wasn't familiar with firearms but might get good use out of the skill, for another.

In my case, I have experience training others and can help with hand-to-hand combat. I can work with people ranging from average human strength to well above it. I've got some skill with swords and knives, but I wouldn't compare that to someone who specializes in them, and that's something I'd like to work on. In terms of non-combative skills, if someone wants to work on something like cooking, I'm reasonably helpful there.

Let's see how we can help each other improve.

I'll teach you to drive if you'll teach me origami.

[ fair trade, right! ]

I'm not very good at origami, just to warn you. All thumbs.

Having at least two thumbs helps for the creasing folds! ... I mean that's kind of obvious, I'm sorry, I knew what you meant. But I'd really like that!

Don't apologize. I never got the hang of it when I was younger. If you tell me where to fold, I can manage at least that much no problem.

I'll say, and I'll show, and you'll do. Though I kind of wonder... hm. What paper they have here that can be cut to the right sizes. Or if we want to practice folding enough that one day we might even make a wish.

[ that thousand paper cranes... ah. in a way, it makes her smile.

sen. part and parcel of what she had been, but not financial. that's kind of a nice spin.

I think we could probably use a wish. That's a good goal to set.

Do you think it only counts if we manage to fold the cranes perfectly? I might hold you back, if that's the case.

[ stop, stop being so familiar with that kind of attitude ]

I don't think wishes have anything to do with being perfect. Besides, the most beautiful things aren't perfect. Right?

[ oh no this is touching ]

Right.

[ lol oh no emotions ]

That's probably a good way for me to look at it?
We can both try to find some paper, and then start. Whenever you've got free time.

Hm, with everything else, early in the evenings may be best, if you're not too tired? I run by the saloon every day, so before or after, or even there, I guess?

How about early evening in the saloon? I can pay for dinner, jut to hold up my side of this until we find a car to start practicing with.

That's not necessary, but, um, thank you. Let me know what day, and I'll be sure to have paper ready!

Three days from now? That should be enough time. I don't want you to rush.
onethousen: (smile | going about my day)

Three days from now is good. I'll have the paper by then.

Then I'll see you in the saloon three days from now. :)
