It's occurred to me that since our membership shifts and our backgrounds vary so much, it might be good to compare what we're capable of. More to the point, I was thinking we might be able to help each other pick up relevant skills, if not hone the ones we already have.

If people are looking to train or think they could help others, why don't we discuss that here? I know at least a few of us don't have backgrounds in combat, for example. On our first day here I met someone who wasn't familiar with firearms but might get good use out of the skill, for another.

In my case, I have experience training others and can help with hand-to-hand combat. I can work with people ranging from average human strength to well above it. I've got some skill with swords and knives, but I wouldn't compare that to someone who specializes in them, and that's something I'd like to work on. In terms of non-combative skills, if someone wants to work on something like cooking, I'm reasonably helpful there.

Let's see how we can help each other improve.

[ooc: Please feel free to thread-hop/jack here, that's what this is for!]

I've never spoken to a dragon before, but you've a very good point. never presume, it's all to easy to presume wrongly.

I think so. it's a little different working with an animal horse, but I can show you the difference. I'd be happy to.

I'm Graham. it's nice to meet you.

It's nice to meet you too, Graham-san! I'm Chihiro.

[ like her display name, but back when she'd had to make it she wasn't thinking it was an actual handle... and if it's just in their team anyway, isn't it more of a nametag? ]

Thank you for offering to teach me how to ride. Do I need to help pay for one of the mechanical horses? I haven't been spending much, but most of what I do here is um... for room and board. I think that's the phrase?

nice to meet you as well.

I have rented a horse for my own means. that should suit for lessons, and you don't need to worry about securing your own. one should be more than enough. I understand that board should come first.

If you're sure... I'm not paying for where I'm staying with money, just with labour. As long as I help out with the chores at the church and the cemetery, it'll be fine.

Um, when do you have time for these kinds of lessons?

I'm sure. I've already paid for the rental, if anything using it for lessons for a teammate make it more cost effective.

nights seem to be the slower part of the day around Perdition's Rest, if you don't mind that. before sunset but after midday.

That's a better time for me, too. Most my training is really early in the morning, and I work after that. Before sunset is a good time. I can bring my own midday meal, too.

[ scraps from leftovers for the most part, but she does tend to consume more calories when she's working on the daily, welp. ]

it's a deal, then.
likely a few days a week to start. you'll find you'll appreciate the break.

( riding any sort of horse, metal or otherwise, is going to take some getting used to. )

[ oh how swiftly the body will learn to adapt ]

Mm! I'm sure I'll understand once we get started. Thank you again!
