[She's been listening and watching more than actively participating as of late, so this is her first real time addressing the network as a whole since she joined up. She's away from the group -- but not far, as evidenced by the layout of Perdition's Rest visible behind her -- and high up, obviously keeping watch.

Someone has to.

It takes her a few seconds to gather her thoughts fully, having been mulling over all the information that's come to light...and various people's opinions on what they should do next. Of course that's not her topic of discussion, at least not yet.]

I know I wasn't the only one looking for answers after the Saloon burned down. I'm curious to know if anyone else found or heard anything interesting.

[She holds up a shard of glass she'd found in her search -- the bowl she'd discovered as well has been left with the Sheriff for safe keeping, all she wanted was a single piece -- balancing it between two of her fingers.]

This is a piece of a glass bowl that I found hidden under the beds in the employee quarters. [Though she spent the entire time in there worried something was going to fall apart on her.] According to the Good Sheriff she found one of these bowls outside the church around the time the late Reverend left to join the Deemers. The glass itself isn't something the Qorral use in their everyday life, which means it potentially has connections to the Taraxa.

[With that she carefully slips the shard of glass into the pouch she'd been keeping it in.]

I poked around a bit. apparently a farmhand out quite late spotted someone running out the back door, and only employees, Ms. Poppy and the mayor would have had access to a key.

the missing employees are rather the usual suspects, but I found the mayor a queer mention. why does he have access to the saloon in the first place?

( Peter looks a little harried, a little tired. Mostly because he is. been a log couple days, for everyone really. )

I didn't find much. A couple of townsfolk were arguing about whodunnits, but nothing solid. The most disconcerting was the reminder that all the Deemer or at least most of them were a part of town, once.

( maybe that goes without saying but for Pete it's hard to think about. people stolen from their lives and changed so dramatically by the parasite inside them. )

That is questionable. The only reason I could see him having access to the saloon is if he had some ownership of it, which as the Mayor I can feasibly see.

Though if it's just the Saloon then well that brokers an entirely different set of suspicions.

[She hums slightly, frowning.]

It's unfortunate it yielded nothing solid and while I understand how disconcerting that reminder is--[She trails off, searching for the proper words.]--we were brought here too little too late. All we can do is what we're trying to.

[ He puffs on the cigar in his mouth, looking unnecessarily smug. ]

[She's trying not to look as annoyed as she feels.]

Damn shame. 'S why I gotta enjoy it while it lasts.

You staying out of trouble? Haven't poisoned anyone in their sleep or anythin', right?

[Okay, okay she needs to get a hold on herself now.]

It's hard to stay 'out of trouble' when all of us keep getting shot at randomly. [Yes and no, maybe. Sort of...??]

[ He grins, but for her it's more sharp than warm. ]

Temptin', but I know everybody would miss me too much.

[ Including her, of course. Right? Right. ]

Biding your time, I'm sure.

[No she would not.]

Yes, because I'm going to spend all of my time waiting for the perfect target to waste what little reserves I have on.

[She couldn't cram anymore sarcasm into that statement if she tried.]

[ He shrugs. ]

Who knows what you're gonna do? Never can tell with traitors.

[The breath she takes is sharp, her expression twisting into something ugly and bleeding with the anger he'd roused up with such simple words. But she slams down on the outburst threatening to get free.

Instead she hisses out a sigh; looking away from the camera and, in turn, him.]

Then I suggest you stop trying to guess what my next action may be.

I didn't find much in the wreckage, but I spoke to the Sheriff regarding Miz Poppy. Apparently a number of her workers disappeared to live with the Deemers in the mountains a year ago, which caused her a good amount of grief. She hasn't acted the same since.

[ He chuckles. He's aiming to get a rise out of her, sure enough, so when Widowmaker's features contort he feels a deep, nasty satisfaction in his gut. That's right. Get mad. Make a goddamn mistake. ]

Ain't no fun in that, darlin'. Besides, somebody's got to keep an eye on you.

A year ago? Interesting. A year ago was when the late Reverend left as well. No doubt he had something to do with it...

[Now that's interesting.]

It does lend more credibility to the theory that Miz Poppy is Mother, and the one in charge of the Taraxa on this planet.

[There's a chilling silence on her end for a time; her eyes focused directly a head of her and her fingers twitching against the rifle in her hands. She's not about to make a mistake now, not when her well being is pretty much riding on her keeping her temper in check.

When she looks at him again the previous anger is gone, replaced with her usual calm. Though her eyes still burn with it.]

And you've been doing such a great job of that, cowboy.

I been a little remiss, it's true. But don't you worry none.

[ What was it that Jack and Ana used to say? Oh, yeah.

He clucks his tongue, mock salutes. ]

I got you in my sights.

Yes. That it does.

I'm beginning to wonder if those bowls I found aren't some sort of temporary habitat for the Taraxa. It would explain why they've been found where they have.

[She might have to bring this up with ALASTAIR to see if they know anything else..]

Oh, I was never worried.

[Her lip curls slightly in another scowl, but it pales in comparison to her previous slip.

Though it thins out into amusement soon enough.]

Do be sure to keep that then.

Perhaps a breeding ground of some sort? The file sent out earlier said Taraxa needed high humidity to thrive. There isn't much of that type of weather out here.

Well, I didn't really go pokin' a whole lot, but I have to say everyone's findings so far has been... fascinating.

Though it seems like the perpetual question is: where are the Deemers now?

[He sounds mildly amused, as if he has an inside joke he's enjoying privately.]

I found these where the backstage dressing rooms used to be...

[In his robotic hands are several pieces of paper, discolored and badly singed in spots but the neatly handwritten notes are still legible. It's clear where some words and sentences have been underlined or circled for emphasis and where extra notes were written into the margins.]

They're pages of notes detailing personal information about someone, such as likes, dislikes and personality traits. They could just be notes for a stage persona but they seem awfully extensive. The sheriff said she'd found similar notes written in different handwriting.
