[Haise has talked with several teammates about the lack of cohesion, and how difficult it is for all of them to coordinate. It was something he'd meant to discuss, or perhaps encourage others better suited, to bring up when they had some down-time. In the wake of a rather heated debate he chose to sat out on, he thinks maybe conversations about how they unify can't wait]

It seems that some of us may be feeling a little hot under the collar after recent events. Since I am an advocate for mercy, and am only alive because as much was extended to me when others may have argued against it, I don't want to touch on moral disagreements. Our stances will naturally differ, because our organization doesn't give us any unifying principles to abide by.

As a member of the CCG, I had very set guidelines to follow. Those weren't all things I agreed with, or felt right about. But they did maintain order, and did keep people safe. They made us an effective team, and more than once it's come up with colleagues here that we might benefit from that.

This was something I'd hoped might come up on Oska, when people had time to relax, but considering the circumstances...

Would any of you be interested in opening that discussion? That is, talking about our backgrounds, where we're coming from, and what we believe. If we start there, surely we can find a way to work together. If we're constantly at odds with one another, that isn't good for anyone. When I first joined, that division was certainly in place, but those I disagreed with still took the time to speak with me, and we did have common ground. I'd like to suggest that, as a team, we try to find that...for all our sakes.

Edit: Although I spoke of my own background in the example I provided, by no means am I suggesting that everyone do the same. Most importantly, we need to establish where we stand on issues we're often confronted with in our line of work. These things would inevitably show in our actions, so speaking on personal matters is not necessary for discussion.
What each of us believes and what course we're inclined to take is what I mean to inquire about.

[so here's a video of kaz. his st. bernard puppy, barend, is on his lap. look at barend!! isn't he cute? isn't he the cutest puppy you've ever seen? he is so cute, in fact, that kaz brekker, bastard of the barrel is petting him. like, for real, kaz is touching something with a pulse. it's a miracle.

and barend is just so cute right? focus on that for a moment. before you listen to what he has to say. itll put you in the right mindset. remember: chill, cute puppy. that's absolutely the point of this video.

totally.

100%]

Here's the thing -- [or, maybe, kaz is going to start lecturing because he's put on his "i'm a lieutenant of a gang" voice. it's the same tone of voice he used when he beat up the entirety of the dregs, but he doesn't know that happened yet. one day.] -- when you all wanted to act like killing was the most unreasonable thing a person could possibly do, there was at least a sense that you had the moral high-ground. "Think of Perdition's Rest! We saved people."

[kaz laughs, a little (a lot) coldly.]

Most of you didn't even want think of what kinds of existences you were saving - both there and back in Woodhurst. You'd rather force a man to live through grueling circumstances and inflict emotional pain than have to live with the idea that your precious hands had been soiled with blood. And anyone who suggested otherwise was immediately jumped on because, Saints forbid anyone suggest what you were doing was wrong. What's the point of moral high-ground if people don't recognize your superior position for what it is?

And it has to be self-perpetuating. So in the wake of this announcement, you're all going to find ways to tell yourselves how you did the right thing, how Oska wasn't your fault, how every life spared is the right thing to do under every circumstance. But a lie, even a nice one, is still a lie.

[he takes a deep breath and shifts, enough so that barend jumps off and scampers away to go find something else to do than sit with his scary teen criminal.]

That's not even really the worst part. The lack of cohesion in this team means that mistakes like these are going to keep happening. [he gives extra emphasis the last two words, trying to drive them home] The kind of work we're doing right now is sloppy at best, and we're lucky it was Oska that got hit and not one of these precious planets you've been trying to save along the way. This mistake could have been a lot more deadly, and the next one almost assuredly will.

I know your responses are going to be a mixture of accusing me of wanting power for myself and being heartless for wanting to kill. Let's all just acknowledge it now, together: if heartless and practical are one in the same, then fine. And power? I honestly don't care enough about this team to want it. I also don't care what your final decisions are - only that we should make some attempt to make them as a group instead of this haphazard decision making we've been doing thus far.

[he pauses, shrugs]

Or we can keep making more mistakes -- and then the decisions will be made for us.

hello my little sibs!! i'm afraid i have some bad news o(╥﹏╥)o

as u know our dearest oska is typically invisible to the bad guys!! this usually works out super well and in fact it still does but ... BUT (∩︵∩)

OK so

remember those slug people you brought back from your last mission?? the people with slugs in their heads i guess that is more accurate and sensitive. we managed to save a lot of them (▰˘◡˘▰) and that's good!! but then, before we finished, some of them got out!! and that's bad. they just slipped right out of our hands, like slippery fish

or ... slimy slugs ◔_◔

so they got free before their heads got fixed and THEN THEY WENT ON A RAMPAGE ヾ(゚д゚)ノ

long story short: cloaking devices disabled from the inside!! reinforcements called!! chaos!! madness!! lots of fighting for like,, the past week

(seriously it's been sooo bad lmao)

and, well, we need help! initially we shut it all down so that these nasty zymandis slugs couldn't call for more fucking backup AND so we could give the other teams a proper warning (like this one, lol) before we let you in again

so get your knives out or your spells or your swords or whatever cool thing you have in your armory bc it's time to kick some ass ᕙ(⇀‸↼)ᕗ

(mostly robot ass)

(but still)

we'll call you in soon, so finish up with all those cute kitties and get ready to roll out!!

WELL, THIS IS AN INTERESTING DIVERGENCE, ISN'T IT? CAN'T SAY MANY OF US HAD OUR BETS ON "CAT PLANET" AS THE FINAL ACT FOR OUR LITTLE WOODHURST SAGA, EH?

[Ahem.]

NOW, BEFORE WE ALL GET OUR PAWS FULL WORRYING ABOUT WHAT'S BECOME OF OSKA OR TREATING OURSELVES, I'D LIKE TO TAKE A MOMENT TO REMIND THE TEAM TO GIVE ONE ANOTHER A ROUND OF APPLAUSE FOR ALL OF OUR HARD WORK! WE CAN ALL AGREE THAT WOODHURST WAS AN EXERCISE IN ENDURANCE, DETERMINATION, AND "HOW NOT TO IMPRESS YOUR SUPERIORS IF YOU DON'T WANT TO BE INDISCRIMINATELY MURDERED," BUT THIS TALE COULD HAVE HAD A FAR DARKER ENDING WITHOUT SOME QUICK THINKING AND GROUP EFFORTS!!

AS SUCH, I'M HONORED TO GET THIS LOVE-FEST A-STARTED. TO OUR SCIENCE TEAM!! ESPECIALLY DR. URAHARA, MS. SIEGLIND, MS. NEVERMIND, AND ANYONE WHO DONATED TIME, EFFORT, AND BLOOD TO THE CURE AND VACCINES: YOU HAVE OUR UTMOST RESPECT AND THANKS! YOU KEPT PUSHING THROUGH REGARDLESS OF YOUR OWN PERSONAL SAFETY AND BOTH AUDENTES AND THE UNIVERSE ARE STILL SAFE BECAUSE OF YOU.

I'D ALSO LIKE TO THANK MR. LANCE AND MR. KEITH FOR INITIATING THE QUARANTINE!! IF MOVIES HAVE TAUGHT US ANYTHING, IT'S A HARD PILL TO SWALLOW ADMITTING YOU'RE INFECTED TO THE REST OF THE GROUP. EVEN HARDER IS KEEPING YOUR HEAD UP AND PLANNING AROUND WHAT COULD OTHERWISE BE THE TRAGIC NEWS THAT SENDS YOU INTO DESPAIR. YOU TWO TOOK WHAT COULD HAVE BEEN A REASON TO GIVE UP AND USED IT TO START A CALL TO ACTION. OUR NUMBERS AND THAT OF WOODHURST'S COULD BE A LOT LOWER RIGHT NOW WITHOUT YOUR HELP.

NOW, THIS OBVIOUSLY ISN'T THE BE-ALL-END-ALL LIST OF PEOPLE WHO SAVED THE DAY. I'M SURE EACH ONE OF YOU HAS SOMEONE TO GIVE THANKS TO FOR SOMETHING OR ANOTHER. SO WHILE WE REST AND RECUPERATE, WHY NOT LET THEM KNOW JUST HOW MUCH THEIR ACTIONS MEANT TO YOU? LET'S HAVE SOME POSITIVITY FOR A CHANGE!

...I had my birthday again the other day. Or, I think so. The timing is kind of weird, since I feel like I only just had my birthday recently in starting high school back home and all. But...I guess this makes me fourteen?

But that's not what I really wanted to say. I just wanted to thank everyone. For helping out. Because we all worked together, we managed to figure out a cure and all, so. Hopefully from now, the people here will manage, that they will be okay even if it might take a little for them to recover. For us too, since I know some of us recruits were sick too. It wasn't easy but....this is why, I think we could handle whatever missions ALASTAIR give us, when we come together like that. We're helping so many people. That's why, even if it's difficult...I believe in us.

Um. I hope those who were sick are feeling better now though. Let me know if I can help any of you! I can heal, so. If anyone was hurt or something during all that....

This is Sieglinde Sullivan, the Green Witch.

I shall not waste my time or yours with much pleasantries. The situation is dire, as you know.

Several of our number have been working tirelessly to develop a vaccine to this virus, and hopefully a cure.

Tests of the vaccine are proceeding smoothly, and we have seen positive results so far- it may be available within one or two weeks time if all continues to go well and no adverse effects present themselves.

I cannot guarantee nor estimate potential cures, and it is not my intent to elevate your hopes, but know that we have several leads we are exploring. Samples of blood, particularly from those of the non-humans within our ranks who are or may be immune to the virus, are much needed at this time if you have not already been solicited.

To protect against the possibility of contamination, four of us have set up in separate locations.

Urahara Kisuke, in the hospital laboratories. Peter Parker, in the university laboratories. Sonia Nevermind, at her apartment residence, 20B of Woodhurst Court. I myself have relocated from the hospital to a residential office, at 45 Pinehurst Drive.

Samples or supplies are welcome there. The others may speak for themselves, but in my case, I will not tolerate any distractions or intrusions, so please do not abuse the knowledge of that address.

[With all the information coming out, it's apparent to Keith and Lance that one big elephant in the room has been ignored: the infection among the recruits themselves. Keith is tired and on edge, as he needs nothing to do with the infection to be cranky. Lance is jittery, too. But they have to talk about that elephant before it gets too late.

And for some of them, it might be. That's what Keith is really afraid of right now.]

Hey. It's Keith.

and ya boy, lance! [Because things are already pretty doom and gloom as it stands, and maybe things could use a little lightening up? Or something...

It’s a little more difficult to differentiate between people in a group message like this, but it’s a better idea to get something down on text in case they need to refer to it later, and anyone who knows either of the boys can probably tell them apart pretty easily through diction alone.]

we know your mind-phones have been pretty busy lately, but theres something keith and i wanted to talk to you guys about.

Before we get a move on in attacking Zymandis' agent, we need to look at our own numbers. A lot of us are sick. Maybe less than I thought. Or maybe more. Either way, we have to know who's sick and make a plan to help our own. And I'm serious about HELPING. Not putting someone out of their misery or any of the other stupid stuff I've heard from some of this team. We need to stop this disease. We need to help our own. Once everyone's BETTER, we'll make a plan for what to do next as a team.

[It's harsher than necessary but likely less harsh than how it might be normally, given Keith's frequently frustrated tone of voice. Text mitigates some of it, even if his frustration definitely does become CAPITAL LETTERS.

Lance, meanwhile, is quite eager to gloss over that sharp reprimand because seriously guys — kumbaya.]

yeeeeeah, so — helping! getting a head count is definitely ideal. we cant afford to be silent on this and we definitely CANT be alone right now, cuz every one of us affected and on our own can be a huge risk to everyone here. so we were thinking… since the city shut it down, we can use the middle school. those of us infected can stay there while we wait for our people to find that cure. like a quarantine safe house.. i know its not ideal, but its something. especially for those who dont have any other contingency plans.

[A pause. Well. May as well get the ball rolling, right?]

So uh, I was wonderin' if one of you could help me with something…

[ His usually whiskered but now strangely bare cheeks (thanks cloaking device) are slightly pink as he scrunches up his face. He looks… kind of embarrassed to be asking something like this so openly, because it’s like admitting inferiority, but this kind of stuff just isn’t his forte. ]

I dunno what to tell people when they ask what I do, or where I come from, or anythin' like that.

[ Coming up with an entire backstory? All by himself? Surely you jest. The most he’s managed is dressing his clones differently and calling them his brothers, any more creative than that and you’re asking a little too much of him. Well, Audentes. Things have certainly taken a turn towards Sweeps Week, haven't they?

[Who's this stunningly handsome, yet unfortunately badly lit human...? Obviously, it's Mettaton, darlings, learn how to read. But wherever could he be with such hideous lighting?]

Riots, infected, and secrets, oh my... While we're out here doing our best to keep both the townspeople and ourselves safe, I thought it'd be a good time to share with the class what we might have found. And without having to play me for it!! Lucky you. [Wink.

The "camera" gets turned away from Mettaton (a crime, he knows), now clearly showing the inside of Woodhurst Watch HQ. Specifically, inside the head editor's room. He expertly pans it from the mess on the floor that the infected and townsfolk left in their rush to head out towards the top of the desk he's sitting at. On the desk, next to where he's perched his legs (you're welcome), are some scattered sheets of paper. He's focusing his communications jewelry on one in particular.]

"Local cancer patient attacks doctor during regularly scheduled chemotherapy appointment." How dramatic. But certainly interesting, isn't it? [He's audibly tapping his fingers on the desk, just out of frame.] Can't say I know entirely what to make of it, but I'm sure checking any records in the hospital would be a good start.

Also. [He turns his necklace back to himself.] Since I and, I'm only assuming, the rest of those inorganic among us aren't particularly interesting to those infected, we might prove ourselves useful when it comes to... Well. Anything. Can't be infected, won't even attract attention... [He puts a hand to his chest and sighs.] I never thought I'd find an audience I couldn't captivate. But! Here we are and the show must go on.

[Slightly more serious. It's obvious there are specific, less fortunate people on his mind.] If there's anyone out there that needs help, let me know. I'm no superhero, but...

Hey, so I know you guys are a real generous bunch. [ He grins. ] This might sound like a weird request, but given the way people were hoarding them back at the supermarket, I figure everybody's stocking up on canned food, right? Since I guess the food inside takes forever to spoil.

[ He shrugs. Yes, he was one of the people who looted the DollarClub. No, he does not look any worse for the wear. Instead Jesper produces a can of beans for the magitek. It's empty, actually, but he gives it a little spin if anyone needs to take a closer look before putting it down on the couch. ]

So I thought to myself, 'Jesper, I bet a lot of people are gonna just throw those cans away after they're done with them,' and that's a real shame. So if anybody has empty cans laying around, think you could send them my way?

Good Afternoon, Audentes. Here in Woodhurst, there are opportunities available to us that weren't in Perdition's Rest. [he means it in a general way - business, taking advantage of resources - but jesper picks a pretty great time to walk past in HIDEOUS colors. so that too.] But those opportunities cost money, and the meager budget ALASTAIR gave us won't last for very long.

[ if kaz is the very image of a businessman, nami is his perfect opposite: the miniskirt she wears is certainly not appropriate for any legal job... she picks up the sales pitch with ease and enthusiasm, though.] You could always work long hours to support yourself and any supplies we might need for this mission to really succeed... or you could let us help you!

["""help"""]

As it just so happens, we're feeling generous about a recent acquisition, and are willing to lend out some extra money to help with your ventures. The money can be repaid in interest or via favors of equivalent value.

Anyway, the longer you take to pay us back, the more you'll owe us, so keep that in mind! Greetings, Audentes. It is I, Sieglinde Sullivan- also known as the Green Witch. I am sure you are occupied with your own matters during this valuable personal time, but I must interrupt for three announcements, if you might lend me your ear.

The first is that Date Masamune, one lord of Oushuu, has been transferred to a different team. I know that not many of you have been with us since Chantes, but he was a valuable team member, and he will surely be missed.

[By her, perhaps most of all, but she manages to keep a straight face, hastily moving on.]

The second is that it has come to my attention some of our members come from worlds where literacy is not as prominent. Access to book learning is one of the most important aspects of an education, so I shall be using some of my time here in Oska to improve this situation. I am able to instruct in multiple languages, but I shall be focusing primarily on what many worlds call English, as I found it the most useful for communication during the period when our translators were defective. You may join open sessions in the castle library each day from an hour past noon.

On that note, thirdly, I need your assistance with one of those new pupils. As much as I prefer to work alone, I am afraid this issue deals with a delicate combination of spellcraft and science, and so I shall be opening up this project to others of like intellect hopefully differing experience. Graham, if you would like to say a few words?

[She reaches forward to turn her magitech brooch. revealing a certain rugged Huntsman. Said huntsman, for his part, was listening. Which explains why his first word seems more relevant to her second announcement than her third.] ...Pupil? [He's aware that means student, and feels as if he might have to explain to Sieglinde he can indeed read and write... though perhaps his handwriting leaves something to be desired...

That can be a conversation for another time, however. There's more important matters at hand to discuss now.]

Those of you present in Perdition's Rest might recall, I have been heartless for a long time. I've asked Sieglinde to help me try and find some kind of solution, though it occurred to me the secrecy didn't aide in finding a solution. [Talking to Koltira had reminded him of how much more he could do. He owed it to himself, and perhaps those who cared about him and wanted to connect to him better, to do all he could instead of asking Sieglinde to do it for him.] If you think you might be able to lend aide, or have any questions about my condition, I'm here to answer them. Even if there's no perfect solution, I'd ... I'd like to feel things, again.

[Feel things properly is perhaps the better way of putting it, but considering this is a great deal more than Graham tends to talk already, he nods and indicates that's all he has to say, and Sieglinde takes back the video.]

How anyone capable of lending a productive hand could deny such a sincere appeal I do not know. I have seen we have new recruits among us, so we look forward to hearing from you if you have experience with medical surgery, curses, or other magics.

Thank you.

I wish to spend more time with others, and learn more about the different cultures and languages we have within our team. If you were to consider this now... what would you choose?

Also, as we have been in good spirits recently, I also hoped we may try to get to know one another better with a game? There is one called "2 truths 1 lie", I believe, where we share two pieces of information that are "real" along with one piece of information that is a lie. As I understand, this is a hella good game to bond. For example: "I can speak 30 languages." "I have got a sister." "I can pilot a helicopter." Which one is incorrect?

[ ooc: re: the 2 truths 1 lie thing please feel free to threadjack etc as well as she does mean for it to happen so people can get to know each other [smh] ]

Hello, everyone. This is Kagura Reika. I'm a recent arrival to Audentes; I would like to request for assistance regarding a few things.

First is acquiring a sword or a weapon of a similar size. My own was deemed unusable, and I'm looking for a replacement as well as anyone who might be willing to train with me during the downtime we have now.

Secondly, I'm seeking to learn how to cook proper food beyond simple meals. Please let me know if you can do so and have some time to spare, I'll repay any help given to me.

Thank you.
