Now, I'm sure we've done something like this before sometime ago, but you know how it is; people come, people go, and we get new faces all the time. So it's a little hard to keep track of y'all sometimes.

But here we are, and I've god a question.

There's a good lot of us that got magic in us before ALASTAIR made, ah, any offerings as such. Maybe even got some magic in your world, sure.

Suffice it to say, I got some interest in what kind there is -- and what magic is like where you're from. How it works. The variety, the limits.

Always good to know about the trade elsewhere, as it were.

There are other abilities that don't involve magic around here, as well, you realize.

I'm all for complicated, if you're feelin' like tellin' me.

I'm aware, but I care about the magic ones. Makes more sense to me.

All magic is in essence the same, no matter where you look. There are differences, sure, someone's grimoire could call for a bit more eye of newt, or some AD&D manual could call for different spells on different planes, but it's all the same thing, at its core.

It's a lie; some kind of story.

The details just make it real.

Got any examples you could give me?

Well, you said that all of it is the same thing at its core. Is there some kinda spell you could describe or do that's an example? Suppose I might just not be clickin' it together.

It's the concept of magic in general, from any world. This isn't my first time on an inter-dimensional roadtrip, you know.

[ but there's a little sigh that accompanies that. ]

There's no specific spell—that's a detail sort of thing.

Some of us aren't as well traveled as you, I'm afraid.

Then I suppose I might be lookin' for a detail. A vague overview isn't terribly helpful.

I'm just kind of a nosy guy in general.

Is there somethin' else you might want? Money's not gonna do you any good, but I got plenty of other things to offer. Stories, tricks. Maybe a favor. Maybe an item that can be procured in the future.
