Now, I'm sure we've done something like this before sometime ago, but you know how it is; people come, people go, and we get new faces all the time. So it's a little hard to keep track of y'all sometimes.

But here we are, and I've god a question.

There's a good lot of us that got magic in us before ALASTAIR made, ah, any offerings as such. Maybe even got some magic in your world, sure.

Suffice it to say, I got some interest in what kind there is -- and what magic is like where you're from. How it works. The variety, the limits.

Always good to know about the trade elsewhere, as it were.

I haven't got any hold on magic personally, enchanted weapons aside. But I've seen a lot of incredible magic back home, both in Earthrealm and in other realms accessible from my universe. Far as I'm aware, it's pretty limitless.

Where do you want me to start?

I guess tell me what kind of stuff you've experienced. Less on enchanted artifacts and weapons, a little more on things like... abilities, I suppose. How it affects them. How long the users have been around.

Magic, it seemed, had all but vanished from my world. Anyone could claim himself to be a sorceror and make a coin vanish, but I have heard it said that true feats of magic did not reappear in the East until I came to a city of warlocks. [ A pause, and then she cants her head. Dryly: ] They seemed to agree.

They were wrong, for all that. I'd witnessed for myself a blood magic ritual before the Qartheen sought me in the desert. [ She omits that she had improvised one herself, in a successful, wondrous act of desperation. ] There are secrets and trades taught still, in a place called Asshai by the Shadow. Anyone might learn the craft if they wished, I suppose.

If you don't mind my askin', what constitutes as blood magic? An' what kind of trades? Assumin' you're familiar with that at all.

My world has Grisha. What they do is-- it's not really magic, though some people call it witchcraft and that kind of thing. You're born with the ability to sense and manipulate the 'small science' in things, whether it's fire, life or metals, that sort of thing. There's different types, most people who are born with it can only do one kind. And in most countries, Grisha are sold and traded for their skills like commodities. Best case, you join up with the Ravkan army in exchange for relative freedom.

Basically if you're born a Grisha and you don't hide it, you're looking at a future of servitude one way or another.

It is not quite as common where I am from, as the technology of my world is quite advanced.

However, there are some that are truly talented in the art. I have studied a little and would like to try some day, though I do doubt my ability would be anywhere close to someone I know back home. His power is truly magnificent! There are not many who could stand up against the Fobidden One and live to tell the tale. He has made hell itself shake with his spells.
