Now, I'm sure we've done something like this before sometime ago, but you know how it is; people come, people go, and we get new faces all the time. So it's a little hard to keep track of y'all sometimes.
But here we are, and I've god a question.
There's a good lot of us that got magic in us before ALASTAIR made, ah, any offerings as such. Maybe even got some magic in your world, sure.
Suffice it to say, I got some interest in what kind there is -- and what magic is like where you're from. How it works. The variety, the limits.
Always good to know about the trade elsewhere, as it were.

Where do you want me to start?

I guess tell me what kind of stuff you've experienced. Less on enchanted artifacts and weapons, a little more on things like... abilities, I suppose. How it affects them. How long the users have been around.

[That's awfully broad, but he'll do his best.]
Well, my friend and her father have an energy aura associated with his bloodline-- apart from that, they're pretty normal humans. Some of the Shaolin have power associated with the elements: Lao, the cousin I've told you about, moves with the winds. Other Shaolin [he's not naming liu kang directly because he's an asshole] have mastery over fire, or can shapeshift or summon different creatures.
Magic users have been around for a long time, if not forever. [He's clearly not picking up on the real direction TF wanted to go with that.]

Around a long time, if not forever? What, are they immortal or something?
[keep it casual]

[And just when it looks like TF is out of luck--]
Not that long-lived magical beings don't exist. Even normal Edenians have lifespans that run into the thousands of years. A lot of them went into hiding once another realm, Outworld, absorbed Edenia, though. [hah.] Politics.

Huh. What are these Edenians, anyhow? You got my attention, snapdragon.

[he might not be able to help directly but he is A FUCKING NERD and is happy to infodump all he learned!!!!]
Edenians are similar to humans in a lot of respects, but the stories say that they're directly descended from the gods themselves. They're more powerfully linked to magic, stronger and faster, and, of course, have incredibly long lives. An Edenian could look about my age and be, I don't know, six, seven thousand years old?
Pretty interesting. Thanks to the Outworld Emperor two regimes before the current one, however, a lot of that historical information's been lost to time-- and I'm not exactly on great terms with all three-and-a-half Edenians I've ever met.

...If he wants to make it work, admittedly. Committing to this decision means a lot of things, if he goes through with it. Right now, it doesn't hurt to just know.]
Hmm. So what you know about them is kind of off-hand, or based on your less-than-stellar interactions with Edenians?

What's with the sudden curiosity, TF?
no subject
Just occurred to me how little I know 'bout magic from other worlds. I got a pretty decent understanding about most from Runeterra, but even then somethin' can up and surprise you.

[btw, the date went fine, thanks for asking.]
Sure that's all there is?
no subject
[awesome, but did you get laid]
Sure is, snapdragon.
no subject
That doesn't sound like a lie at all.
