Since we have our new marching orders, and are preparing to depart relatively soon, I feel as if I should go on record admitting my one weakness.

[she makes an agitated noise.] I'm not good at blending in.

[she holds up her hands, suddenly excited.]

But! But I have learned that the one thing that sets me apart is that I'm considered to be very funny. So by using my natural gift for comedy, I will surely keep the natives off guard while we plan out our strategies.

The problem is I don't have many jokes. The one about the chicken, while hilarious, will probably lose its charm after awhile, so in the name of preserving teamwork, I ask of you, my fellow Audentes, to give me, the great and lovable Peridot, your best jokes.

[she makes a face] Which, while extremely limited, has come in handy when I don't understand something.

Okay, like what kinds of things? Like give me an example of something you did not understand that you needed the internet for!

It's a human food made with potato strings and some sort of meat sauce. It's very popular on Camp Pining Hearts.

That sounds so good, I would like to try it sometime!

[ She pauses, then looks... very proud of herself. ]

And that is how you have a normal human conversation about something you don't know! [ It really isn't. ] As long as you pretend like you're just a normal human who just happens to not know something, then no one will know the difference! If anyone asks, just tell them you are not from "here"! They do not need to know where you are really from!

[ This is terrible advice. ]

Hhuh... I guess it has the benefit of making me seem mysterious. Camp Pining Hearts always makes a big deal out of the campers who aren't from Canada.

[ She laughs, her fins all perked up and pleased... mostly with herself, more than anything, but she doesn't make that all too apparent. ]

The humans will love you. And if you get nervous, you can just stick with me! We can cover for each other.

Good thinking! It's only logical that the non-Earth-based lifeforms stick together!
