Hello, world!

[Oh, who's this guy?? Surely not someone any of you have met before!! JK, there's his username, slapped on the post like it always is. But this guy's a human!! Surely there's an explanation for this!!]

This is Zenyatta. If we have met before, then you might notice I am looking very different! If we have not, I do not typically look like this. I am typically an omnic- or as you might better know, a robot.

For the most recent mission, we have the assignment of "blending in" with the population. I thought this could be an opportunity for me to learn what it would be like to live as a human.

That is also where I could use some assistance. I am still becoming accustomed to human lifestyle, but there are many things that are new to me. For example, I have noticed there are certain rules about clothing most humans follow, but it was not exactly something I thought too much about as an omnic. I typically did not wear shirts, but it seems that this might be more of a necessity, as a human?

[As are socks. Shoes. Underwear.]

Another question I have- how do humans know when they are allergic to things? How do I run some sort of diagnosis to ascertain what I should avoid?

I am sure there are much more I have yet to discover, but some guidance would be appreciated.

It feels wonderful. There are so many things I had not realized I was missing out on. I had not realized that humans experience touch at all times- that skin is so sensitive.

I have not hurt myself much so far, aside from the incident with a few stairs.

And you aren't seriously hurt?

Maybe they gave you super healing when they gave you your human body...

Oh, no, they did not.

[ He just didn't fucking fall face first. He is, however, going to be fascinated with his bruises later. ]

I am still injured, but they are small and harmless ones. I am actually quite interested in seeing how the human body self-repairs things like this.

Can't you just use your ball things for that?

[ And he looks very solemn about it. ]

[ Not that the solemn lasts very long, and instead he actually starts laughing at his own joke. ]

Pff- hahaha!

Do not worry, Lance! They are still with me! I would not let them out of my sight, they are too important. However, I cannot use them in this body. They are tied to my energy as an omnic, not as a human.

So how's that even work? Do you just like... switch back?

Eventually, I will be able to just switch back, yes. But for now, it is a skill I must practice and learn.

Fair enough... I've been human all my life, so I can't really imagine what's so fun about it.

[iomnic]

When you use your hand to touch something... a wall, for example- your nerves pick up on that. They send a signal to your brain, the texture of the wall, the feeling of how it also feels against your skin. When you smell something, it is your nose telling you what that scent is, and where it is coming from.

These are two senses I have never had before. Touch, previously to me, was conveyed only by pressure, and temperature. Scent was more of a diagnosis of the chemicals in the air, but never something that could tell me how sweet food smells.

It is wonderful.

I have had my new favorite food, ramen! Oh, and I have been told of pizza by Keith, and burritos by Shiro. But there's so many things I haven't tried yet! Do you have any recommendations, Lance?

You definitely have to try a corn dog! And nachos! And chili! And chili nachos!!

Peace, Lance. I will be able to try them all, with time. If I eat them all now, I cannot savor them fully, yes?

I think they would all get combined in terms of flavor, would they not?

I mean you aren't gonna eat them all at once... But there's no rule saying you can't have them all in one meal.

...That is completely right. I bow to your wisdom, regarding food.

I had some pretty good influence growing up. My friend, Hunk? He's a total foodie.
