Hello, world!
[Oh, who's this guy?? Surely not someone any of you have met before!! JK, there's his username, slapped on the post like it always is. But this guy's a human!! Surely there's an explanation for this!!]
This is Zenyatta. If we have met before, then you might notice I am looking very different! If we have not, I do not typically look like this. I am typically an omnic- or as you might better know, a robot.
For the most recent mission, we have the assignment of "blending in" with the population. I thought this could be an opportunity for me to learn what it would be like to live as a human.
That is also where I could use some assistance. I am still becoming accustomed to human lifestyle, but there are many things that are new to me. For example, I have noticed there are certain rules about clothing most humans follow, but it was not exactly something I thought too much about as an omnic. I typically did not wear shirts, but it seems that this might be more of a necessity, as a human?
[As are socks. Shoes. Underwear.]
Another question I have- how do humans know when they are allergic to things? How do I run some sort of diagnosis to ascertain what I should avoid?
I am sure there are much more I have yet to discover, but some guidance would be appreciated.

Huh...I didn't know you could even put in requests like that. The biggest thing I've asked for so far was a bunch of candy a bit ago.
But it's a 'magic' sort of thing here, right? [A "spell"...] Guess that means you can turn it back off whenever you want?

Ah, yeah? [He peers at the feed with a renewed bit of thoughtfulness now.] So that's why you're asking all the questions too...reference for later and stuff like that, right?
Looks like there's been a lot of people answering your questions already, so there's probably not much I could add by now. But I'm also a human, so if you need any help and can't find anybody else I'll be around, I guess? ...Though... [He pauses now, frowning slightly more to himself than anything.] Coming from me, some stuff might not be as accurate as it should be...you'd be better off asking someone else about pain or anything like that.
no subject
I do still have a few questions, but... About pain? Is there something unusual about it for you?
no subject
[He's assuming you've now been saddled with the full human body experience here, anyway...actually working pain receptors included, and all that.]

[ Where has he heard this before. ]
I felt pain before as an Omnic as well. But it was a different type of pain. For a human, I believe the idea of pain is that it is meant as a deterrent from actions or situations that would be bad, but at the same time, stimulates the affected one in order to ensure they do not fall victim to whatever is causing them pain. Does this sound correct?

Apparently you can wear that out after awhile if it happens too much, though. I think that's what happened on my end, anyway. Guess it doesn't wear out for Omnics?

Ah, you'd think. It's definitely not the sort of thing that happens to most people. Hell, I'm the only one I know back home that has this problem.
I've got a friend who's sort of a doctor-- [sort of. an illegal doctor...that does underground jobs.....why do you make shady career choices like this, shinra] --and he told me it's like...if you hurt the same spot enough it starts hurting a bit less? That does happen to a lot of humans normally. The nerves get--ah--some complicated biology shit, I can't remember.
But I did it too much, I guess? So now it's like this. [nailed it]

[ but you are also NOT A ROBOT, SHIZUO ]
I have also heard of human "tolerance" levels. Perhaps, a combination of both has led to this, for you.
[ He's trying to make this make sense for you... ]
no subject
Oh yeah, 'tolerance', that was the word. Shinra mentioned that too, I think. [Shizuo sighs, absentmindedly rubbing the side of his neck a bit as he frowns at nothing in particular off-screen and considers this.] Might be something like that...a combination, like you said? We've got nerves instead of 'sensors', but I wouldn't be surprised if it was because I damaged them too much or something. Either way, they definitely haven't been working in awhile.
[He appreciates Zenyatta's attempts to help the both of them make any sense of it, anyway. That's already more patience than most people would have trying to engage him on things like this, Shizuo himself included. Talking about things more than surface-level complex has always been an impatient exercise in vaguely waving off over half of it, for him...detail has never been his strong suit.
But for the sake of Zenyatta learning things, he guesses it's good to clarify...though--]
Man, it sounds pretty bad when you put it like that...

You are also not alone in this aspect. There is a woman here by the name of Ramir- she experiences a similar situation to you. There also was a man here by the name of Saitama... but I have not seen him in a while.
Had you spoken to either of them about this?
