I know there's still a lot of work we need to do to repair Oska, but we need to take breaks too, right?

I have an Xbox so I thought maybe it might be fun to have a games night. I only have 2 games and CoD is probably the wrong tone after we had a big fight already, but I have Quiplash which is way lighter.

Basically it generates a question or part statement and you have to answer it or fill in the blanks with the funniest answer. Kind of like Cards Against Humanity, but you write your own answers and everybody votes instead of taking it in turns. You can just watch if you don't feel like playing so it's a really good group game.

Would anyone be interested in like a night where we did that?

( it's cute if anyone thought he was done being evasive with his own name. nope. or Maya sounds way more dude like these days. )

Man, an Xbox? Talk about a blast from the past. The past of a year ago, meaning, since I haven't seen one since I was home.

I was always a PlayStation person ( bc Sony owned the rights ) but I would play. I know someone else that would play, too.

( he manages a laugh at that one. )

Sony does have some awesome VR prototypes ( please get off of your brand Parker ) but no, Xbox was still a thing for me. I get the feeling, though.

We will get there, though after we've seen all the tech here it might be hard to impress us anymore.

And my playstation probably won't know, I think I can manage gaming on an xbox for one night. Can I bring a friend?

I hope not. There's a good chance our tech won't ever resemble what was generated in worlds with so little resemblance to our own. We can't compare to chemicals and capacities and even realities that generated this kind of technology, we'll have to make something of what we have available to us.

( getting a little theoretical physics there, Parker... calm down. )

Great, thanks. She's trying to learn more about tech stuff, this should be good practice.

I think there's some amazing progress in our future, there's already groundwork for it, it'll just be on a different spectrum from worlds nothing like ours. At least, that'd be my guess.

She's... well, I think she can handle it. ( such a vote of confidence )

I tried to catch up in the magitekkery, but uh... since Latin is not my strong suit, I'm not sure how far I'm gonna get on that.

We will. I believe in her, she just... might need a few tries to get used to it, is all.

2015. It's weird that is the middle of the pack chronologically around here.

( there are some from much farther in the future and way further in the past... Audentes is a timewarp in and of itself. )

I'm looking forward to it. I haven't played a dumb video game in a really long time. Well, I went to an arcade once in Woodhurst, but I'm saying that only barely counts.

Seriously? Another hailing from the year of our lord, 2k15? Wow, you might even understand some of my references. Let me tell you, it's hard having all my pop culture knowledge go to waste.

( it's hard to even tell if he's joking on that one. so many swings and misses as far as trying to be funny goes... )

Yeah, just the once. Then stuff got bad and I was busy working on the cure. Trying to, anyway. ( Peter still doesn't take any credit for the success, thanks to the fact his infection ran away with him before they could actually cross the finish line. )

Yeah. Or, too bad we didn't manage the cure faster.

( that'll weigh on his conscience until the end of time, no doubt, though the fact they made a cure at all was pretty commendable. )

( a sigh. his playful attitude seems to have disappeared. funny how that works... )

They found it, yeah. It's important not to forget that.

Not enough, if you ask me.

( he sighs. what he has to say next is clearly changing the subject, but... he sort of has to. )

This sounds fun, though. I guess I'll see you there.
