There is also the matter of housing now, whether she can still afford these rooms herself with what she has been given from ALASTAIR.]

I just thought everyone should know, in case they weren't aware already but. Fai-san and Kurogane-san have been sent on a different mission. I'm sorry if they had any plans with anyone. If they did, I could try help instead?

I should probably check and see how much this place is or if I need to find somewhere else to stay. I was just helping with the dishes, some cooking and cleaning for Fai-san and Kurogane-san in exchange before and they didn't mind. But I'm sure it'll be okay!

[She really didn't do this for pity. More so everyone could be aware their number is lower. She's not used to asking for help, but she will if she has to. Knows she needs to sometimes. And this is more advice as well, really. She's never had to consider accommodation herself after all. Sorting that out on her own.]

I don't mind. I stay out in the woods, like I told you, but I wouldn't mind the company.

I can give you some extra money off my stipend, I'm just not sure you ought be alone.

Ah, but don't you need your money? I'd have to repay you somehow if you did that.

[The woods though, she doesn't seem like she would mind so much. Outside of extreme weather, it should still be comfortable enough and better than being without any sort of shelter or space to store any belongings at all.]

But....I guess you're right. Being at home alone for one night or a few hours after school while brother and dad are working isn't quite the same.

( he sidesteps her insistence on paying him back. in fact, he'd really rather she not try to. he's not doing it for compensation, he's doing it because it's the right thing to do. )

It doesn't have to be me. I'd just like to know you're safe, with your friends gone.

( it is very mature of her to try and provide for herself, more or less. he's just not particularly comfortable taking things from her. he is trying to be a better person, taking the money of a little girl for doing the right thing seems wrong. )

I'm sorry that you lost your friends. I know what that feels like. You'll be well, though. ( he will make sure of that. )

Thanks. I'm sure I'm not the only one that has had friends be sent on another mission, or not had any from home show up. I'll be fine though. Everyone's being so nice and offering to help! So, I'm sure everything will be okay.

[She has to believe that. She does. Because with so many people wanting to assist her, how could she not figure something out and manage just fine with all their support? Yes, she's lost some friends, but others are stepping up to help in their stead all the same.]

I don't think any of us want to see someone your age on her own. As long as you've got someone to look after you that you trust, I can't ask for much else.

( he's not sure it is the best for a young girl to pick her own guardian, but in the end it's not up to him. ALISTAIR should be more concerned about their younger residents, he thinks, but all he can do is what little he can. )
