text, un: lucina ( backdated to a day before their escape )

Hello, Audentes. For those of you I have yet to meet, my name is Lucina. I come bearing news.

I have spoken to a Zymandis agent. They are here, alone, and the jewelcomms are what notified her to our presence; she was willing to answer my questions, and in return, asked the same of me. The following is what I learned:

They seem believe that the Timeline is ill; the multiverse no longer has the energy to sustain itself, and will eventually meet its demise. Given this, their mission is to destroy everything, so that the Timeline will be reborn stronger.
[ Those familiar with her should know there's a certain level of anger in her tone, text or otherwise. ] At least, this is what their Timeline.exe has told them— not only so, the original Timeline.exe, as well as its "update", were created by the same individual: Theodor Arbatel, their "Leader".

If anything requires clarification, I will try my best to answer them.

( ooc. the thread is here for the curious. while i've gotten a lot of info the thread is currently incomplete, so there may be delays in getting to questions from characters!! otherwise feel free to threadjack / etc. )

Destroying the world based on a hope that it will restart itself is ridiculous. Maybe they're all brainwashed because believing this is illogical.

It's not as ridiculous as you may think. The logic is sound.
But - hm ...

Not necessarily the best, as far as outcomes go.

Even operating on assumption that it is true, and the multiverse, timeline or whatever you get to call it, will restart itself upon total destruction.

Why hasten it? It's like someone believing in reincarnation murders everyone older than 25 years old. Because their prime just passed, and now they are going to get older and weaker; it's better for them to die, and be reborn young again.

A more accurate analogy would be something close to death, rather than past its prime.
The timeline is close to death, and things do need to change, as an opinion from someone who's been reborn before.

I'm the god of chaos, you know. I'm all about new starts and beginning again, but blindly following the possible cyclical nature of resonance could be possibly damning.

Going with that analogy: those close to death can still escape its grasp. It will change them, yes, but there is still hope.

I can't believe I'm the one saying that...

Death need not be escaped.
It's limits on freedom that come with surrender to resonance.

By that logic, we should just succumb to illness or wounds. What else medicine is than escaping death?

Mortals.
Did you ever think of the consequence of immortality?

Gods.
Must you exaggerate everything? Do not equal a stupid quest after something like "immortality" to doctors trying to save as many as they can.
