I have few doubts in the work we have been doing for ALASTAIR. Rarely simple as it has been, but it has been eye-opening work nonetheless.
Yet, still.
...
How long do you foresee yourself in Audentes?
How much is enough before returning to where you belong?
I wonder.

But they have said they would allow us to go back home after six months of service.

Can't say I've asked, but has anyone seen if they keep their word?

But it would be nice to have the input. Hence the question.

I'm more for living in the moment. Why think about the end when it isn't even over yet?

But really, I don't mind ALASTAIR. It's close to what I'd be doing at home anyway.

But it seems to me very convenient that we are then left unknowing just how many truly are "sent home". There is no way to confirm even that.

So far i've been thrown into a fight that wasn't mine, tried to steal from a planet because some organization said it would set time right and thrown in to jail for something I only kind of did. And now...well, whatever this is.
Which....sounds like I'm complaining, but...honestly I just wish it felt like there was a point to any of this.

[Whatever Hanzo's feelings on it further, he does not share them with Ratchet.]
This is perhaps not the best impression ALASTAIR could have made. My first one was caring for infant aliens and making sure they reached a home where they could survive. That felt... worthy.

[The briefest pause, and then--]
Which means, that some of us are never likely to leave here.
[He's quite certain he could never matter enough for that.]

Then perhaps speak theoretically. If given the option, would you return to where you came from?

[Of course Nyx gives a little humorless laugh.]
I've got nowhere to go to so six months? A year? A handful of years? Bring it on, I say.

Well. At least someone benefits, then. Quite the arrogant username, to match.
