That gives her something to think about, at least. But if this place is as similar to her own world as it seems so far... there really isn't a job she can think of that can go anywhere. Even a messenger, who would travel place to place... they wouldn't get past the first room.]

Considering our mission, it would likely be best to have access to the inner palace in case of an emergency...

But that is near impossible to gain access to. Even courtiers who have served for years rarely reach a rank that allows them to see the emperor and empress from anything but the courtyards or the audience halls.

What's an inugami?

The bound spirit of a dog that was buried to the neck to die, whose rage makes of it a spirit that the diviner can then command.
