[Happy Valentine's Day, Club Ophelia! Naturally, this guild is neither a club nor really in a place to pass around cute Valentine's with fantastic puns, but one could consider this a spectacular day to publicly broach a specific issue: marriage.

No, not among the various members of the lovely guild, but the Empresses themselves. Love is in the air, isn't it? Or it could be. In time.

As it is, incoming Veronica and a beautiful vampire man by the name of Alucard. Thankfully, no one will be announcing any murders here, accidental, in self-defense, or otherwise.]

Hello, Guild Ophelia! [That's Veronica. She's as chirpy and confident as ever.] Alucard and I have a proposal to make. Let's just say "proposal" is a fitting way to talk about precisely how we want to approach the rest of this mission. Some of you have already heard what I have to say about this, but I think it's fitting if we hear it from another party.

[Alucard, on the other hand, is calm and keeping his usual regal approach.] In addition, I thought it best to ensure everyone heard what we had to say. Veronica’s idea is a wise one: there will be persistent unrest with all people in both regions. If they are unable to agree to one ruler, there is no reason to not revere both as ruling parties. It would be an ideal resolution.

This could be arranged easily by marriage between both Empresses.

[Veronica is seen nodding in response to this, pleased that this is coming together.]

I know a number of you think a peace treaty might be the answer. I don't disagree, but we're here to ensure that there's a more permanent solution moving forward. The union of these two women is the best way for both of these societies to have their cake and eat it, too. Their combined resources and culture can only make them both better. And we're not left desperately trying to make Doro be the one in charge … or someone like him. We know he just doesn't suit the unique nature of this world. [One that Veronica herself is rather fond of!]

So, let's discuss team.

While I don't think it's something that will put everyone to rest, that could solve most of the issues... Provided the Empresses can tolerate each other for that.

It would certainly hold more weight than any written word of peace.

If it works all there's left to deal with would be those that disagree with the entire thing.

I doubt we can force everyone to fall in line, but if the action can prevent civil war, then I would deem that a success.

Oh we certainly can't, but I agree, most should quiet down if it works. As long as the Empresses don't try to kill each other.

An understandable concern, but not one I think we need to fear from these two.

I do hope not. They at least don't seem like the type. I suppose the question now is how do we get them to agree to it.

[It's a real shame, a wedding like theirs would be the perfect stage for some art.]

There will be unrest, but anyone who's fighting in the name of their Empress is only going to find that their Empress decidedly is opposed to it. So much that she's willing to make a sacrifice like this.

If there are any actual rebellious sentiments, they'll be found quickly and stomped out.

I do hope that is the case. People can be quite... cunning when they disagree with something.

I do agree that this is one of the better choices, if we can get them to agree to it.

Given the nature of the current unrest, we might find that most people think they're fighting for the honor of their Empress.

They're just being idiots about it.

Idiotic, but terribly typical. Defending an idea of honor without asking if that's what they desire.

So how are you proposing we get them to agree to marriage? It would be a wise choice for their land and people, but what if that incentive is not enough?

I think what a lot of people are overlooking is that both Nama and Youmi are incredibly reasonable people.

Reasonable doesn't mean instant agreement.

No, but it's not like we can't pitch the things we've already said. And there's already a ton of unrest.

We can make the suggestion yes, but do you not think we should have other ideas should that not work?

I'm hoping to hear an idea that doesn't involve Doro being granted rule, them somehow coming into a third power, or even worse: someone marrying him. Honestly, I wonder if people would be this opposed if it was a man and a woman we were talking about.

Doro becoming leader of all this really wouldn't suit this world. Kind as he's been. And marrying him off wouldn't really solve anything, so unless one of the Empresses desires that, I doubt you have much to worry about there.

[There's a slight pause before he sounds somewhat confused.]

Do people have issues with them both being women?

And beneath the surface, what reasons could they have against it? Them both being women does not affect anything.
