[Sometime after the Escort Missions are completed, Alucard speaks up on the network, sounding weary.]

I loathe to ask this of any of you, though I respect any who wish to decline my request. If you accept, know that I am incredibly grateful for it.

I require a bit of blood, if you have it. I know not all of you do. I will not accept it from someone who is ill.

Should you wish an explanation, or have further questions, I will answer them. I am open to discussing on methods of bloodletting if you would consider to donate it to me.

I said I wasn’t giving— [Wait. That just sounds like he isn’t good enough. Worse than humans. No, worse than demons! He’s so freaking tired of people giving him hell because of who he is!]

Frustrating as you are, we are not unalike.

[He sighs, speaking less irritably:] my father is a vampire, but my mother was a human. I am not pure blooded. A dhampir, some call it.

[Ummmm, stop being sincere and nice to him now?? Inuyasha is super confused. Abrasive behavior and anger he knows how to deal with (by returning it), but kindness. Thanks, he hates it.]

Who says I--? [Wait, no, he can't say that, or it'll just be rude to his mama. He lets out a frustrated snort.] Yeah, I heard. But what's that matter?

Just because I'm not a full demon doesn't mean I can't lose blood. [It's less: I'M READY SUCK ME and more: How dare I erroneously perceive that you are insulting my half-breedness???] I can take it better than the other humans.

That isn't what I'm saying at all. If I bothered to explain myself, would you even listen, Inuyasha?

[No. Barely. Okay maybe, but more so now that Alucard has pointed it out.]

There is no question about your durability. That, I do not doubt. We both know the fragility of humanity. My mother raised me in acknowledging this, and knowing the minimum in which I need to survive.

I do not drain humans of their blood. I know, precisely, in how much to draw without harming them. She was a doctor, and taught me as such -- to value humanity.

And despite our disagreements, I can see that you feel the same way.

The similarities dredge up far too much emotional baggage, and honestly, he's actually too sensitive to deal with any of it. A down-right baby. It's hard enough admitting on an open network that he's a half-breed, so he's certainly not going to talk about his mother here.]

Yeah, well, don't forget it. I've never met anything more frustrating than humans, and I've fought a lot of demons. You can flick them, and they'll die, but then other times, they'll keep getting back up.

Just make sure you know who you're asking that kinda stuff from.

[It's unspoken, but he yearns for some sort of connection with someone that could just maybe understand a little. The feeling of never being quite a person who belongs in either world -- not human enough, not monstrous enough.

But he's bared his heart enough. Maybe they both have.]
