The Order of the Chimera would have us plan a jailbreak for tomorrow.

And keen as I'm not on caving to the demands of terrorists, unlike that disaster in the streets a few weeks ago, this time we have the foresight to organize ourselves. I know some of you have your doubts. But whether or not we're helping those fools out in the process, where I'm concerned, we can't leave our people hanging in the balance.

So while the rest of you figure out how to deal with Michel, I say we combine our efforts.

[ simultaneous operations or otherwise, their downfall is being uninformed or unprepared for each others' movements. and while it may not be clear, due to a number of circumstances in which he's seen some less than reputable behavior among recruits... ] Our success hinges on snipping every loose thread.

To account for that, our most suitable people should lead the operation. But don't take it personally. Organized into squads, we can draw on all of our recruits' unique strengths. That includes you rookies.

I know the lot of you may not be so bent on following orders willy nilly, but be reasonable. We'll receive no higher guidance with ALASTAIR leaving us to our own devices, and we've got better chances in a team willing to ally themselves with loyalty than in a disjointed mob of lone wolves. Take heed to the fact that your cooperation with each other will determine the fate of our teammates' lives.

[ now then. with that out of the way, the next matter at hand is the allocation of these squads. ]

Riza. Pearl. Lend me a hand, will you? [ this is his way of saying he deems you two "suitable." ]

The rest of you: a basic rundown of your abilities would be of help. I'm not gonna force your hand, but we need to sort ourselves out somehow.

[ and considering the influx of new recruits as well as the existence of those he's yet to meet: ] My name's Levi. I'll be working to man the assault. If those two agree to it, they'll help me manage you lot, so speak up to one of us if you need something.

the squads will be focused on support (pearl) and assault (levi & riza) but it is up to you and your characters which you want to join up with. we could also really use some coordination efforts. that said, you're free to make your own, be a rebel and not help at all, or anything else you can think of. go wild. c: )

I've been briefed on the general mission parameters, but the only specifics I'm aware of, I've gleaned from the network post that went up earlier.

A summary of events would be appreciated.

[—Ah yes, about that.]

The original mission in Chantes was to restore the sun and bring peace between the goblins and the humans, as the goblins were accused of assassinating the queen. [Obviously that is Not Going Well.] The king refused to answer to our request for a meeting; instead of waiting, some of our number infiltrated in hopes of meeting with him. He confirmed that a goblin did in fact poison the queen and also confirmed that he had contacted and recruited ALASTAIR to take care of the goblins for him, as he believed them to be a threat.

[No guesses as to what 'take care of' means in this context.]

Around the same time, we learned of a number of missing persons. It was suspected that they were victims meant for an upcoming sacrifice of sorts. In reality, they were all members of the Order of the Chimera and had willingly left their homes. The Order sent out invitations to a few ALASTAIR recruits to a private meeting held in the woods, where the leader Michel revealed he was the one responsible for the disappearance of the sun. However, the local guards were somehow alerted to this meeting and managed to detaina good number of those present. They were slated to be executed for high treason.

[And here they are now.]

[ Obviously, a lot of things are Not Going Well.

Archer reads over the information she provides, and aside from the apparent lack of organization from the top down, he wonders at ALASTAIR's recruitment choices. ]

In short, we're in the middle of a large mess.

[ That's what he's taking away from this, anyway. ]

Was a reason given for blotting out the sun?

That's one way of putting it.

[And the most accurate, to be quite honest. As for his question—]

Not that was directly revealed during the meeting, though it was obvious Michel held no good will towards the king and those who looked down on him. He's of human and goblin blood - a half-breed, you could say. Not many people hold love for them.

People always fear what they don't understand.

[ It's the nature of humans and the cause of many, many conflicts. The story here is nothing really new. ]

Did they give a reason for the invitation?

They issued out invitations to certain people who they believed would be interested in 'bringing justice to Chantes.' Past that, I couldn't say.

[All in all, pretty standard cult invitation stuff.]

If the operation is successful, I'd be curious to meet that man.

[ Meet him and decide whether he should be put down before he causes anymore trouble. ]

There's some talk of trying to detain him once the mission is underway. [As he's no doubt already seen.] You could always volunteer your efforts there.
