[ with his wrist raised to grant the magic bracelet a view of his stern face, the backdrop of his makeshift stable in the outskirts, it's apparent that Levi hasn't gone to any special preparations to make this announcement. however, he also hasn't wasted any time between the offer of Arthur's and now to corral ALASTAIR attention of his own. they've waited long enough. ]

The Order of the Chimera would have us plan a jailbreak for tomorrow.

And keen as I'm not on caving to the demands of terrorists, unlike that disaster in the streets a few weeks ago, this time we have the foresight to organize ourselves. I know some of you have your doubts. But whether or not we're helping those fools out in the process, where I'm concerned, we can't leave our people hanging in the balance.

So while the rest of you figure out how to deal with Michel, I say we combine our efforts.

[ simultaneous operations or otherwise, their downfall is being uninformed or unprepared for each others' movements. and while it may not be clear, due to a number of circumstances in which he's seen some less than reputable behavior among recruits... ] Our success hinges on snipping every loose thread.

To account for that, our most suitable people should lead the operation. But don't take it personally. Organized into squads, we can draw on all of our recruits' unique strengths. That includes you rookies.

I know the lot of you may not be so bent on following orders willy nilly, but be reasonable. We'll receive no higher guidance with ALASTAIR leaving us to our own devices, and we've got better chances in a team willing to ally themselves with loyalty than in a disjointed mob of lone wolves. Take heed to the fact that your cooperation with each other will determine the fate of our teammates' lives.

[ now then. with that out of the way, the next matter at hand is the allocation of these squads. ]

Riza. Pearl. Lend me a hand, will you? [ this is his way of saying he deems you two "suitable." ]

The rest of you: a basic rundown of your abilities would be of help. I'm not gonna force your hand, but we need to sort ourselves out somehow.

[ and considering the influx of new recruits as well as the existence of those he's yet to meet: ] My name's Levi. I'll be working to man the assault. If those two agree to it, they'll help me manage you lot, so speak up to one of us if you need something.

the squads will be focused on support (pearl) and assault (levi & riza) but it is up to you and your characters which you want to join up with. we could also really use some coordination efforts. that said, you're free to make your own, be a rebel and not help at all, or anything else you can think of. go wild. c: )

Who knows. It was bound to happen with or without our interference.

[ though before ALASTAIR got here, he's under the impression that the tension had yet to meet its climax. they may be unwanted for interfering, but there's no telling how many more would have died if they weren't here to fight Chantes' battles. ]

The disappearance of the sun plunged this place into chaos.

How could the sun just disappear like that??

It's not like it just happened. The Order of the Chimera has said it themselves that they're responsible.

[ it may have been a longer while still to find them, however, if they weren't on the verge of being public with their secret meeting. ]

They claim it was done using the goblin magic in their blood.

That's...some seriously powerful magic if they can just take away the sun like that. Not even my clan can do something that big and we're one of the more powerful races.

[Although next to the Giant Clan and the Demon Race they're probably weaker...he scratches his cheek.]

And they just blatantly announced that?

Your clan? [ obviously he's not from this place, so there's no comparison. but does that mean he knows magic, too? ]

Michel said it at their secret meeting. Some of ALASTAIR was invited to show... though I can't tell you what brought on that bright idea.

My world is split into four clans. Fairy, giant, human and demon. There was a fifth - gods - but we haven't seen them since the Holy War a thousand or so years ago. There's other minor races, like humans and vampires, but those are the main clans.

[He inclines his head in thought.]

Likely a display of power.

That may be the case. They had no reason to trust us. [ ...he hadn't seen the note that Eren received when he decided to follow him, but since they'd manage to go about their business unseen by the townsfolk this whole time, it seemed unlikely they'd trip up so suddenly. ]

I heard about this giant clan once before. Do you know Diane?

[slothking]

I can't say I blame them. I don't exactly trust humans either.

[He was about to say something more but Levi said the magic word. His face goes red, a few shades off from tomato.]

D-Diane's here? [King covers his tone of voice with a cough, and continues, normal, as though he totally didn't just make a fool of himself.] We're comrades. Members of the Seven Deadly Sins. Have you talked to her? Really?

[ and he would have said something else back, had he not triggered this reaction. kids. ]

Hah? What kind of weird gang name is that? [ well, more importantly, ] I met her during that scavenger hunt. Never seen a titan act so... human before.

Well, we were all chosen according to the crimes that we committed, so it's not that unusual. My own is Sloth.

[Which explains the pillow.]

Titan? [There's a look.] Of course, Diane isn't a monster.

What's the story behind that?

[ because it really sounds like he's missing some important context. as for Diane... ]

I can see that now. [ it's just too bad he had to make her cry in order to do so. ] But in my world, you don't see nine meter women running towards you unless they want a meal. Know what I mean?
