[ with his wrist raised to grant the magic bracelet a view of his stern face, the backdrop of his makeshift stable in the outskirts, it's apparent that Levi hasn't gone to any special preparations to make this announcement. however, he also hasn't wasted any time between the offer of Arthur's and now to corral ALASTAIR attention of his own. they've waited long enough. ]

The Order of the Chimera would have us plan a jailbreak for tomorrow.

And keen as I'm not on caving to the demands of terrorists, unlike that disaster in the streets a few weeks ago, this time we have the foresight to organize ourselves. I know some of you have your doubts. But whether or not we're helping those fools out in the process, where I'm concerned, we can't leave our people hanging in the balance.

So while the rest of you figure out how to deal with Michel, I say we combine our efforts.

[ simultaneous operations or otherwise, their downfall is being uninformed or unprepared for each others' movements. and while it may not be clear, due to a number of circumstances in which he's seen some less than reputable behavior among recruits... ] Our success hinges on snipping every loose thread.

To account for that, our most suitable people should lead the operation. But don't take it personally. Organized into squads, we can draw on all of our recruits' unique strengths. That includes you rookies.

I know the lot of you may not be so bent on following orders willy nilly, but be reasonable. We'll receive no higher guidance with ALASTAIR leaving us to our own devices, and we've got better chances in a team willing to ally themselves with loyalty than in a disjointed mob of lone wolves. Take heed to the fact that your cooperation with each other will determine the fate of our teammates' lives.

[ now then. with that out of the way, the next matter at hand is the allocation of these squads. ]

Riza. Pearl. Lend me a hand, will you? [ this is his way of saying he deems you two "suitable." ]

The rest of you: a basic rundown of your abilities would be of help. I'm not gonna force your hand, but we need to sort ourselves out somehow.

[ and considering the influx of new recruits as well as the existence of those he's yet to meet: ] My name's Levi. I'll be working to man the assault. If those two agree to it, they'll help me manage you lot, so speak up to one of us if you need something.

( ooc; this is an IC plotting/organization post for jailbreak shenanigans! threadjacking and posting your own threads is welcome and encouraged.

the squads will be focused on support (pearl) and assault (levi & riza) but it is up to you and your characters which you want to join up with. we could also really use some coordination efforts. that said, you're free to make your own, be a rebel and not help at all, or anything else you can think of. go wild. c: )

[His tone implies he considers her demands seriously, exactly as she would have hoped. Rin closes her eyes, letting the warmth of her teacup sink into her hands. The quiet note of a satisfied sigh is the proof of her approval he could expect from her.]

... Now is a good time. What have you learned about all of this?

[She's asking him to catch her up on the people he's been talking with, and the information he's been given. It would be easier for Rin to peek in on other conversations, but she hasn't quite mastered it.]

[ It is at this stage that Archer shuts off the feed -- not because he doesn't plan on answering, but rather he doesn't care to use this particular mode of communication for this.

He materializes a moment later in front of Rin. ]

I have reason to believe the network isn't secure.

[ Which is one conclusion he's reached since arriving. It's better to be overly cautious than careless. ]

I would rather speak in person or through our link when discussing more sensitive topics.

[The materialization is definitely still an answer. Perched on the couch, Rin stares at Archer, not surprised in the slightest.]

Is it because of Arthur? [An Order member possessing access to the ALASTAIR network may be a liability, though she's not sure how much he could actually do.]

But, very well, Archer. It isn't as though I mind. Go ahead.

[ It is partially because of Arthur, incidentally, but more than that, he doesn't trust it's security or, necessarily, the ones who brought them here. ][ As for the rest of it- ]

I've learned several things. The individual with the designation 'hawkeye' was kind enough to give me a summary of events since ALASTAIR's initial arrival here.

[ He pulls out his device and shows her the relevant conversation. ]

You've seen Arthur's announcement already.

[Yes. ALASTAIR is certainly questionable in and of itself. What proper organization would allow its members to be arrested, or tell new recruits next to nothing?]

"Hawkeye"? [Hmm.

Rin takes her time to scroll through the conversation, even if it's slow and badly paced at best. Some things never change.]

I have. I don't like him. This Hawkeye woman is the one who gave Arthur her communication jewelry.

[ He wouldn't necessarily consider any organization in the business of fixing timelines to be "proper", but then, he is a bit jaded on the subject. Still, he would expect some organization.

He waits patiently for her to look through it all and doesn't rush her. ]

She did. Not out of any particular sympathy for his cause, I don't think.

[ She seemed to have a good head on her shoulders when he talked with her. ]

There are a few individuals who stand out.

[ Practical, tactically-sound individuals. ]

Which are...?

[Don't leave your Master hanging, Archer.]

Levi, whom you've spoken to. [ And babbled about them being Master and Servant, but he brushes past that. ] Hawkeye, I believe, is reliable.

The one called Glee Sloth on Arthur's post is another with a more practical mindset.

Levi doesn't appear to be on very good terms with that Gilgamesh.

[Which is always a plus.]

The name Glee Sloth isn't familiar to me.

I heard. There are likely others who don't especially care for him.

[ Gilgamesh, for all his charisma, could also be exceptionally crude and repulsive. ]

She was the only one I saw who attempted to bargain with Arthur instead of immediately capitulating to his demands.

[They can only hope. A+ charisma only covers so much for "raging asshole".]

Hm. Is she a member of ALASTAIR, a recruit [She specifies,], like us?

From what I've gathered, she is a recruit like us.

The higher-ups of ALASTAIR, from what I've heard, are elusive. They haven't been in contact with the recruits here at all beyond a random assortment of "gifts" that arrived not too long ago.

That isn't surprising. What were the gifts?

According to Levi, things from the respective worlds. Animals.

An odd assortment of things no one actually asked for.

So probably just something to placate them... And goods that were occasionally useful.

[it sounds a lot like the sort of shady organization alastair's coming out to be. lazily—and she'd only do this in front of archer—rin scoots to flop over the couch after she's set her teacup on a nearby table.

she's still quite tired from supplying him with so much mana.]

What I'm wondering now is how Glee Sloth can possibly bargain with Arthur, when she doesn't even have her organization behind her. One-person negotiation isn't going to help the Order realize the error of their ways.

Not very well, possibly. But the attempt was made.

[ Which is more sensible than simply caving to the man's demands and getting high on the idea of rescuing their fellow recruits.

He looks at her laying down like that, and while he hasn't remarked on it in some time, he has noticed her fatigue. ]

You should retire for the evening.

[nothing is sensible in this world, where they barely know anything.

she lifts up a hand and waves it dismissively at archer, as her other arm comes over her eyes to block the bright glare of the overhead lights.]

—It's fine, Archer. I can still talk. Well, anyway, I imagine her attempts are going absolutely nowhere, and if they are, they aren't very profitable. I'd choose to rescue the ALASTAIR members in jail, regardless. They're like us—they did nothing to ask for this.

If we can't trust our teammates and each other, there's no point.

Perhaps.

[ He'll withhold judgment for the time being. He doesn't know enough to be entirely certain, and there are a lot of fluctuating elements in play. ]

We've been placed on the same team as at least one questionable individual.

I wouldn't trust them too easily.

[if archer is expecting her to respond to that hint in his statement, to name at least one questionable individual who can't be trusted, he'll be sorely disappointed.

all that answers him is silence. and after a few minutes, far longer than any purposeful stretch of silence from rin would ever last, it continues. eventually, there's the sound of soft, regular breathing, in and out.

her arm slips off of her face and her eyes are closed. she's sleeping right here on the couch.

she shifts and mumbles—seconds ago she was his proud, reliable master, now she's fitting her stockinged feet into the warm corner of the sofa and it's almost as though he could kill her where she rests.]

[ She really does look fragile lying there.

He expects an answer, but given what he can sense through their bond, he isn't surprised at the silence. She shouldn't have offered him a contract when she was already low on mana, but she was stubborn that way.

Clearing away the tea, Archer takes the time to clean and put things in their proper place before returning to the room. His Master is sound asleep still, and after covering her with a blanket, he returns to spirit form to ease the strain on her.

He will not be far for the rest of the night. ]
