These rifts affecting a single guild member...do they happen often? I had found myself suddenly back in my own universe for some time, with no memory of having joined Hathaway, only to return before I-- nevermind.

[this is voice for a reason because while there is disappointment in her tone, she'd rather not show it to the rest of the guild. it's something she'll get to when her time with Hathaway feels like it's been completed.]

I realize I have been gone for only a handful of days, and merely wanted to inform everyone that I have returned.

[and because as A Leader Type she can't help herself:]

Hopefully we are all already thinking of our aliases for the upcoming mission.

Including, hypothetically, a circus of two performing mice?

But unfortunately no. I still know too little of the world we are helping to properly think of a decent alias. Perhaps in another day or so...

Your first idea may not be completely without merit! But perhaps we ought to start small with it — what are mice?

You do not know what mice are?

I'm certain I wouldn't be asking if I did.

Well, they are small, furry creatures with round ears and long tails. The planet our mission is on seems to have them native to their world, so their presence would not be alarming.

[cyberware]

I see. [ was that so hard!!] And these creatures are sapient, or merely animals?

[juniberries]

The mice from my planet are highly intelligent. Platt and Chulatt are my friends.

[cyberware]

That doesn't quite answer my question, but I suppose I can work with that. The next question, of course, is are they very good at performing? Let's have an honest assessment now, no one will pay for a lackluster mice show.

They are! Mind you, their original act was intended for four mice, but they told me they've been planning a two-mice show for awhile now.

[cyberware]

Did they now. [ well that DOES answer his question, prepare for him to always address those mice like lil peoples ] Why, then I think you're quite onto something! They're you're star performers, you're their ring leader — and perhaps I'm your agent. Every good show needs one.

I can hardly blame you, it's always seemed to me an agent can be a particularly backhanded role in the wrong hands. I, of course, would merely be posing as one.
