ᴜsᴇʀɴᴀᴍᴇ: ʜᴜɴᴛsᴍᴀɴ (VIDEO)
( graham doesn't like using the video feature much, so mostly he avoids it. people might recognize his username, though, he hasn't been silent on the network that connects members of ALISTAIR. in fact now that he's a fugitive he has a bit too much time to flip through messages, though that's neither here nor there.
still, the fact he's using it means he does so with a purpose. after Sakura encountered him in the woods, he doesn't see a better way to get his message to everyone that needs to hear it. hopefully the townsfolk themselves will just stay away, and his brother is clever enough to stay clear of people that might hurt him. he's smart and wary of humans, it doesn't seem impossible he'll manage on it's own. it just feels dangerous to leave him out on his own without trying to assure people the wolf is not a threat. )
A friend of mine came from home. I hear that happens on occasion.
( Graham tilts his pendant enough to capture the wolf in the feed, just long enough for the details to be picked up. a vibrant red eye, white and gray fur. a little too friendly with a human, one could argue, as the wolf is looking up at him with an open-mouth grin, much like a dog. )
He's not a threat to humans. He'll more than likely run if you get too close to him, but all the same. If you see him, don't hurt him. He won't hurt you unless you threaten him.
( the wolf still has instincts enough that he will fight if he feels he has to for survival. being so close to a human has tempered many of his wilder instincts, yet the wolf is still and will always be a wolf. )
If you hurt him despite this message I promise you'll regret it.
( there's a steel edge to that threat that is very sincere. Graham was a better man than the Hunstman ever claimed to boast, and the wolf is about all the family he's ever had. if someone is bold enough to try and harm him (or worse), they'll have a dedicated hunter after them, and a ruthless one at that.
with that the video feed closes. if there are questions, they'll likely be answered via text. )

They must not have as good of a sense of smell as claimed, if that's the case.
[ The remark is hardly biting and he moves along to the next point without much pause. ]
At any rate, no. Maker, no, that's not where I'm from. They are just... a people who enjoy their dogs and wolves. Tacky little carvings all over the castle. I hadn't assumed you to be—though, never hurts to check.
no subject
( so it's not so much that people smelled badly as were just very smelly, period. anyway... )
You say it like it's a bad thing to be from Ferelden. Surely there are worse things than enjoying the company of man's best friend.
no subject
No, it's not. There are worse places. [ Orlais, for example. But, no point in talking about that. This man doesn't know anything about either place. ] Worse things, certainly. I must admit I'm not quite sure I understand how a wild beast can be a "best friend." Would it not get lonely not having a voice to hear in return?
no subject
He was the only thing I could trust. He couldn't talk back, but he still has a way of communicating. ( still... ) I suppose only the two of us was a bit lonely. Luckily we're not, anymore.
( ALISTAIR does have that going for it, so many people trapped together fighting for the same cause, better or worse. )

I suppose, in a sense, I can understand. [ This is a tiny, tiny breakthrough. That he's even admitting he could possibly understand the benefits of animal companions is a strangely large step in Dorian's life. But, trust is important. So, so important. ] Trust is not an easy thing to bandy about; that it is mutual speaks well of you both. I've no true experience in the matter, but I have learned as well as been told that intelligent beasts such as canines have more of a discerning taste.
[ How anyone can be a better judge of anyone than he, Dorian just doesn't know. But, he's heard and seen stranger things. ]
Does he have a name?
no subject
( it was funny how an animal could know a person's heart better than a human on many occasions. he'd probably trust the wolf's instincts on humans over his own if he had not spent so long amongst them thanks to the curse. he understands them better, now, even though it only points out the holes in his life, of what others have and he does not. )
No, he doesn't, though with so many people asking I wonder if I should think of one.
( if the wolf can be identified perhaps it will foster more fondness. )
no subject
[ This is all something to ponder over, certainly. Perhaps there are some books around this place to learn more and bolster his knowledge. It never hurts to have another keen eye. ]
At any rate, it couldn't hurt. Especially if your intentions are to keep him safe. If he recognizes a name, then the rest of us will know and feel less... threatened, I suppose, should we cross paths.
no subject
( spend most of your life living in the woods and you tend to learn a thing or two about wild life. that's just sort of how it works. )
I'll consider it. I've never thought about naming a wolf before. Anything really. It'd have to be a good one.

[ there's a brief pause, ]
After all, I imagine it a bit of a difficulty to command some sort of dignity and respect with a name like Fluffy.
no subject
Right, no, I don't suppose he'd ever forgive me for naming him Fluffy.

I do wish you the best of luck in your endeavors. Should you find yourself floundering, do not hesitate; I have excellent taste.
no subject
( nothing worse than a horrible name. as a humbert, he'd know. )
