( graham doesn't like using the video feature much, so mostly he avoids it. people might recognize his username, though, he hasn't been silent on the network that connects members of ALISTAIR. in fact now that he's a fugitive he has a bit too much time to flip through messages, though that's neither here nor there.

still, the fact he's using it means he does so with a purpose. after Sakura encountered him in the woods, he doesn't see a better way to get his message to everyone that needs to hear it. hopefully the townsfolk themselves will just stay away, and his brother is clever enough to stay clear of people that might hurt him. he's smart and wary of humans, it doesn't seem impossible he'll manage on it's own. it just feels dangerous to leave him out on his own without trying to assure people the wolf is not a threat. )

A friend of mine came from home. I hear that happens on occasion.

( Graham tilts his pendant enough to capture the wolf in the feed, just long enough for the details to be picked up. a vibrant red eye, white and gray fur. a little too friendly with a human, one could argue, as the wolf is looking up at him with an open-mouth grin, much like a dog. )

He's not a threat to humans. He'll more than likely run if you get too close to him, but all the same. If you see him, don't hurt him. He won't hurt you unless you threaten him.

( the wolf still has instincts enough that he will fight if he feels he has to for survival. being so close to a human has tempered many of his wilder instincts, yet the wolf is still and will always be a wolf. )

If you hurt him despite this message I promise you'll regret it.

( there's a steel edge to that threat that is very sincere. Graham was a better man than the Hunstman ever claimed to boast, and the wolf is about all the family he's ever had. if someone is bold enough to try and harm him (or worse), they'll have a dedicated hunter after them, and a ruthless one at that.

with that the video feed closes. if there are questions, they'll likely be answered via text. )

[Liking animals kind of goes against his Cool Tough Guy projection, but Lea can't quite help it. He always wanted a pet when he was a kid and he never got one, so he had to get by feeding the strays in the neighborhood.]

Cool dog. Or wolf? Never understood people who hurt animals, myself.

( as for hurting animals, Graham hunted to survive in Misthaven and still does to provide for the wolf now that he's out of prison, but each kill is for survival and not for sport. )

I don't understand senseless violence against animals, yet those who persist on it always find a justification for it.

[ Cullen's surprised to see that it's a wolf the man refers to, but that doesn't prevent him from smiling slightly when it appears in view. His appreciation for canines has been breed into him through countless generations of his peoples' love and partnership with them.

And since this man seems to share an understanding of that partnership, of course he has to speak with him. ]

Do these people often try to harm our animal companions?

not that I'm aware of.
wolves rarely are treated warmly, in my experience. I won't have someone hunting him or mistaking him for a threat. he's very much not one.

( the fact is in the enchanted forest wolves were hunted nearly to extinction. Graham isn't willing to take the chance it could happen again. he'd feel better if he could be with the wolf, unfortunately as a fugitive if he gets caught staying in the woods he will end up back where he started. he can only steal a few hours at the most and it leaves too much time for something to go wrong. )

[ While he's not inclined to get excited over animals and such nonsense better suited for tittering folk and Fereldans, even Dorian has to admit it's a handsome fellow. ]

I'm beginning to feel a bit left out—all these animal companions nearby for comfort and protection. Though I can't say I'm envious of the smell.

[ He sighs all too dramatically, voice sounding a touch further away. ]

I don't suppose you're from Ferelden, are you?

I assure you, you smell worse to them than they'll ever smell to you.

( apparently even heartless guys can be sassy on occasion. Graham has never much minded how the wolf smells, though... one can argue he's just used to it by now. )

Afraid not.

( he lifts his eyebrows because he'd expect to be mistaken for Irish over... well, he doesn't know what Ferelden is. could it be another world has a strange clash of accents, just like Misthaven? )

no. he is simply my friend.

( more like his brother, Graham just does not expect people to easily understand such a comparison. he doesn't completely understand what familiars are, but he's heard of them at least vaguely. they don't have a magical connection, just an emotional one. )

[ If he does end up encountering wolves (for whatever reason), it seemed easier to shout out a name than attempt to identify it by sight alone. Not that he plans to get mauled by wolves in the first place, but...just in case. ]

( Graham is starting to think he might be wise to give the wolf one, just to help protect him. a name might make him seem more relatable to humans. )

If you encounter him, he does not act much like a wild wolf, unless you seem a threat. I just wanted to take the precaution to see he came to no harm.

[ She has to admit it: that dog is the best thing she's seen since she's gotten here, even if it isn't in person. After trying to wrap her head around the whole jail situation, it's nice just to be able to sit back for a minute to adjust to her new settings . . . again. ]

He's sooo cute. [ Like Pompidou.

But his tone doesn't escape her. Despite this, she doesn't seem afraid, and she'll match video with video. ]

Why the threat? Has he been hurt before?

( he generally avoids video but a young girl seems rather harmless. and it admittedly does make conversation easier. )

He is, isn't he? ( Graham actually smiles at that, and it's rare to earn those out of him. as for if the wolf is dangerous: )

Only ever to survive. Wolves have different instincts than humans do. I'm simply used to people seeing him as a danger without understanding him, and I don't want to see him hurt.

( especially when he can't be with the wolf to protect him, most of the time. )

[Sakura holds up a stuffed toy that looks like this, to show him. It's bittersweet, a reminder of home like this. Reminding her of the familiar while at the same time only increasing the ache of missing him in a way.]

As long as he's with me, he'll be safe.

( it's the times they can't be together that Graham is mostly worried about. he can't spend all his time in the woods, especially now that he's a fugitive and they are so closely watched. he's doing what he can to protect him, he just wishes he could do more.

Graham pauses to squint at his device to see the toy properly. it's cute, seems to suit her. )

( SO FLUFFY MUCH CUTE. Graham has decided that communicating is easier if he keeps to video, even if it's a bit more awkward than actual conversation. )

He's a wolf. You've never heard of wolves before?

( plenty could say they'd never seen a wolf, yet most people had an understanding of them. )

[ olivia had actually meant to make this an audio response, but she's still trying to figure this whole technology out, so what graham and his companion get instead is the image of a slightly startled woman with pink hair and some... questionable attire. (at least she's got a cloak on to cover most of her body though?!)

her hands have come up, though, covering her mouth while her eyes widen at the sight of the wolf. ]

What a cute doggy! [ sry graham, sry mr. wolf, you are 2 Cute to not me a "mr. doggy"... nor are either of you spared the sudden inflection in her tone. yes, you got it — she's baby-voicing you. ] Who would ever want to hurt something so precious?

( if he should be offended on the wolf's behalf, he's not. Graham is fond of his brother, and he is quite charming. anyone who agrees is not likely to earn his ire. and, well... he doesn't really notice the outfit. these devices don't offer too much detail, thankfully. )

He's a wolf, though I know he's small. ( not the most intimidating of wild animals at all. likely from being too close to a human. just as the Huntsman was not a normal human, for being too close to wolves. )

Wolves are often seen as a threat to human life, though if one understood them at all they'd realize what a flawed perception that is.

[Clara seems a little fascinated by the fact he has a wolf that he considers a friend from home, and can't help but smile as she thinks of a suitable response.]

He's lovely. Why anyone would want to harm him is beyond me.

[The look on her face at that point says she's equally likely to harm anyone that meant the animal harm. But just as soon as that look shows up, it's gone, and she's left with a lopsided little grin on her face. One that says she may or may not be attempting to charm him into someting.]

Do you think he's likely to run from everyone? Even people who would like to meet him properly, face to face?

( anyone that appreciates the wolf is someone that immediately endears themselves to the huntsman. there's not much in this world or the next he cares for more. )

Usually he would, unless he knows them already, but... I'm not sure.

( the wolf wasn't frightened of Emma, though he supposes Emma was not likely to hurt him. )

[ surprise, Graham. there's a lady here with her chin rested on her folded hands, a dark brow raised at the wolf. (Odin had two wolves, and she wasn't going to deny his purpose.) ]

You're supposed to follow this up by saying "winter is coming."

( he remembers the username, but not the face. his brow lifts too, and for a moment he wonders if he should worry that someone has been nicking communication devices. is that possible? )

Why is that? I don't believe winter will be here for a while yet. ( sorry, Loki; no Game of Thrones references in Storybrooke. )

He likes it from someone he trusts. Sometimes though I think I like petting him more than he likes to be pet.

( gush away. it would warm his heart... you know, if he had one... still, appreciation is a good thing, much better than the alternative. )

I've never seen him trust anyone enough, no. Though I don't suppose it's impossible.
