Well now. This is all hell of a thing -- ALASTAIR, savin' worlds, temporal bugs full of acid an' whatnot -- but I've got a bit of a conundrum.
I'm a man of many skills, but a cobbler? Oh, far from it. And I've a pair of boots that are a bit in need of a rescue. Suppose I could take what I've been generously given by your very fine organization, but these are a bit near an' dear to my heart.
I don't suppose any of you wondrously talented individuals could help me out? I'd be very much obliged.

Text @SERENE
Were you asking questions? What did you say?
text; cardmaster
I was asking for some help with fixing my boots. I'm pretty fond of them.
@Serene
That is not what you asked for, I know, but that will prevent your boots becoming more worn until you find a cobbler.

But these boots don't have the issue of being worn down, I'm afraid. I might have to cut my losses from the sounds of it. True shame.

This is belated: My name is Serene Charlord, of Callirhoe. Am I wrong in assuming that Cardmaster is an alias and not your real name?
no subject
You would be correct. I go by Twisted Fate.
Video w/text @SERENE
Twisted fate? [If he knows Persian, she sounds like she's got a terrible accent. If he doesn't, her rapid speech is amused. She leans her spear against her shoulder as she reaches out to type with her other hand on the keyboard she pulls up]
I have to see what you look like with a name like that. Is it a formal title or a nickname.
video w/text
It's my name. Picked it myself, that's all there is to it.
Don't mind going by Fate or T.F., though.
video w/text
At least I can blame my parents for saddling me with Serene Luminescence as my given names.
I shall call you Fate and you may call me Serene
video w/text
Charmed.
video w/text
A musical band? I can sing like a songbird but I'll need time to practice my harp again.
I insist that my name be on the top of the flyer.
video w/text
Well, I tell you what, I'd sure love to hear you sing sometime. Harp or no harp, band or no band.
Now that's getting a little greedy, missy.
Re: video w/text
Missy? That had better be a mistranslation.
[Of course he won't understand her snapping, so with her brows high she types back]
If you want to address me by a title it's "My Lady". If that's part of your culture than I shall honour it by calling you little boy
no subject
Nothing little about me. Bit of a spitfire, aren't you?
no subject
Nor is there anything childish about me, so watch how you address me.
no subject
I'm thinking we might be having a bit of a cultural difficulty here. I assure you, when I look at you, I'd never think childish.
no subject
Then you will not condescend to me by addressing me as "Missy" like I'm some wayward little ten year old
no subject
no subject
Hilarious! I don't think anybody has ever said that to me before.
So fuck you, and I hope your boots rot. [There are some advantages to only being able to communicate by typing]
no subject
[Nope, but he's going to laugh anyway.]

Adorable nickname, by the way.
1/2
I don't know if you're truly ignorant or if you're playing the fool, but either way you are a stinking pile of shit!
[And with that sent off, she bares her teeth and terminates the conversation]
15 minutes later
And she's embarrassed by herself. What is she to be so riled up over such a message, twelve? It had been so long since anyone had looked at her and not seen a human, one of the feared and fabled warriors from across the northern sea, that she's rattled at not being able to lean on those useful stereotypes for her first impression.
This isn't what she wanted to become.
And so once she's calmed down again she switches her communicator back on to message him again, stony faced]
I should not have called you that. However, you should be more respectful of how you address strangers here, especially as someone new. You offended me with your words, for you addressed me not as your equal or as your more experienced team mate, but as a child.
You will offend many others if you do not learn to control your turns of phrase until you come to understand the cultures and temperaments of the people you speak to. Do you understand what I am telling you?
no subject
Old habit. It was worthy a laugh or two.]
I understand you're making an awful lot of presumptions about the nature of our conversation.
But I will say it was far from my intent to mistreat or indicate you to the likeness of a child. You're very much a woman, after all. You have my apologies.
