VIDEO - un: p. parker [TRIGGER WARNING, BODY HORROR, GORE, ETC)
( so, this was really not how he wanted to introduce himself to his fellow teammates. between half of the team apparently being missing to the natives winding up on shore with organs removed and their eyes gouged out. he's Spider-Man and he still feels useless in really helping people. he has his suit and his webshooters but his strength is gone.
for once, he really is a normal guy, and it's been a long time since he felt that way. still, as uncertain as it makes him, he refuses to think that he can't do anything at all. he's still got to try. all of them do. )
First things first, I guess. I'm sure we've all seen the bodies washing up on shore. I... I mean, I tried not to look too closely, but I guess that guy was right about sacrifices. ( Peter looks a little green, looking down and shaking his head. ) I've covered any body I've seen but we've... we've gotta do something. Bury them, or... cremate them, I don't know. But we can't just leave them. ( suddenly being space kidnapped is just a little too real. he never imagined cremating sacrificed bodies would be on the itinerary. )
We've got to do something to see nobody else ends up on that shore. Maybe night watches. We can keep some patrols and do something if something goes south, maybe figure out who is responsible and where they're taking them.
( he's not okay with just letting more people die. it feels inherently wrong that so many already have, but he's determined to make sure no more do, or at least try. )
Last but not least, I guess... did anyone come here with technology? Like, cell phones, anything with wires, stuff like that. I'm not sure where the rest of our team is, but if I can get a radio together and amplify the signal enough, if they have access to one we'll be able to contact them, figure out where they are. I mean, it's a longshot of all longshots, but I guess that's better than nothing.
( who knows if it'll work. any of it. but he's got to try. try something. it's a lot to put on the agenda, but he'll skip the sleep if it means they can fix things. )
...right. And I'm Peter. Hi. Gotta say, this was the worst orientation I've ever had.

First, effort should be put in to locate their families. They have a say in what happens.
no subject
Right. That's a really good point. They... they seem like they've been stripped of any personal items, at least the ones I've found. But if their families are missing them, they could probably identify them.
no subject
In the meantime, others continue the search. [ a heavy sigh. ] But we have to work quickly. Last thing we need is an outbreak or a riot.
no subject
( probably too busy freaking about the lack of their goddess and abilities, but come on. once again, the establishment needed some better priorities. )
We can reach out to them, see where that gets us. That's a good idea. ( he hopes it works. ) I don't disagree about moving fast, but we need to find a solution just as badly. There's got to be a way to stop whoever is responsible for all this.

[It's simple stated fact, bleak though it might sound.]
sounds good to me!
( a longshot that might not even help. feels like all of his suggestions are that way. )
I appreciate the help. There's... too much, for one person. ( that feels really horrible to say. )

[Inevitable, maybe, and certainly nothing more than a pipe dream, but that doesn't stop her from hoping all the same.]
Were you planning on burying the bodies you couldn't identify?
[Burial's all she knows how to do; Nalawi funeral rites, if they exist, are an unknown to her.]
no subject
( he really doesn't like the idea of a funeral pyre, but... he also doesn't like the idea of poisoning the natives in attempts to do the right thing. )

Yeah? I can't promise I'll get it back to you in one piece, but if you're sure, I'll take it.
no subject
Oh, and if you see any of those bodies get up and walk during one of your patrols, do let me know.
no subject
( maybe it's the most pointless gesture of all pointless gestures, but he still wants to try. )
...Is there a risk of that?
( because yeah, he really hadn't anticipated zombiefied deer people. )

Can you tell me where you found this body? I can take a look at it before we dispose of it humanely.
no subject
and... man, which body? there's more than one. washed up on the beach.

I'll meet you and you can show me how many, exactly.

I mean, yeah. this is my first time seeing mass murders, or sacrificial killings. New York is crazy but most run of the mill teenagers don't see cult sacrifices on the day to day. unless it's a really weird day on the subway.
( god peter now is not the time for horrible off the wall humor... )

Most people who haven't seen death before aren't so quick to offer solutions.
[ Particularly at a young age, too. He should know. ]
