And while Alec isn't exactly ignoring all of these awful things that keep happening to him and everyone he's met, there is one thing that still weights on him a little. It's probably not that important in retrospect, but it's weird and his life is weird and he just wants one thing to make sense. He just hopes the, uh, guy (male? skeleton?) is still around.]

To the walking skeleton. [What was its name? Papyrus? (Why did it have a name?) At least he doesn't call him a corpse...]

Granted, if his arrow had actually hit it, it probably would've obliterated it, and whether the skeleton/ghost/corpse has a soul is still up for debate, but it was weirdly friendly and maybe it's not the weirdest thing he's ever seen?

[Technically, King is the only court fairy back home because he was tried in a human court for a crime, but that is clearly not what this guy is talking about.]

I'm from the Fairy King's Forest, between the Fairy Realm and Liones. We don't have anything like a court. Just a king who protects the forest.

[Which would be... him. Does that count as a court? That doesn't make sense to King.]

[The King's what? Okay, this is definitely fey stuff, which means he doesn't have a clue what the fey is talking about, but he is definitely bewildered by the fact he's admitting anything at all. He's very... upfront.

I haven't heard of it before, but I'm not an... expert. [Far from it. They worked with the fey when they could, but after everything with Meliorn, he -- he didn't see that continuing.

Next time just think a little more before trying to say walking skeletons make no sense when we're trapped on a group of islands featuring fire imps and exploding coconuts.

It's not doing a great job of anything.

[Huff, indeed. This has to be the first time he's ever agreed with a fey about anything. Of course, he doesn't have extended conversations with them, either. Barely even the scouts had talked to him, before Valentine had murdered them.]

All of that makes sense compared to necromancy that isn't necromancy. I mean, except the coconuts. I didn't exactly find the need to throw coconuts at anything.

What does necromancy have to do with any of this?

It's not necromancy if they were created from scratch. Papyrus certainly doesn't talk like he's the walking dead.

I don't know of anything powerful enough to make something like that from scratch. And they're not. They're not made.

[He's not exactly a black magic expert, but he sure as hell knows where skeletons come from.

Granted, the fey's right. He doesn't talk like one. Being that he talks at all.]

I didn't know of anything that could make something like that at all until I ended up here. Just... [Sigh and bother.] Consider any world besides your own to operate under its own unique rules. It'll make your life that much easier, I promise.

[It'll also make King's life easier. Win-win.]
