Ah, hopefully I'm getting this right....I've only ever replied to others before this. But -- I think I've got it! Hey everyone. I'm Sorey. Been here a while, with some friends from home at least - Edna, Mikleo, and Dezel. Alisha too. But I'm not here to talk about them.

I was talking to Dagny -- one of the people working with ALASTAIR, when she and the Timeline were telling us what they think we should do. I don't want to have to kill anyone -- god or otherwise. But if it does come to that, we can at least prepare. Prepare the Nalawi to survive without their powers. Teach them some of the skills we know. I could teach them to hunt. To fight. Or -- they don't seem to need much if any help in that regard, but....you know. I figured if everyone has something they're good at, that we can pass on to them, it would help them a lot. If the Timeline was right. What does everyone else think? I think it's worth a try.

It's not a bad idea to organize, and address the most pressing areas. Water, shelter. Food and medicine.

Yeah. I mean, there's a lot they don't seem to know how to do, without using their powers. If we can at least figure some basics to teach them so they can get by. If we've.....really decided on this and all. We can't just kill their gods and leave them. Not without at least trying to help them get through this.

[Sorey has always been something of a bleeding heart, always willing to help. Even if this often means going out of his way. Putting himself at risk.]

Do you know, who and what they've been teaching though? That'd be somewhere to start. To expand on that or teach something else if it is already being covered.

Ah, of course. I don't mean for you to know what everyone else might be teaching them. I just figure if we can ask around and get an idea, we know what isn't being covered or what might need to be taught in more detail or something, you know?

So what were you trying to teach them?

Construction and repair, mostly. [ which has been trying considering the lack of all but the simplest tools. ]

[ Sorey makes some good points, but... He's always been fairly idealistic. Not that Mikleo isn't the same way. However, Mikleo also tends to be a realist, as well. ]

I'm glad that you want to help, Sorey, but do you remember what Lailah told you?

[What Lailah taught him. What they all tried to keep telling him. Sorey looks to the message and almost looks sheepish as he remembers. Because of course he does. All the seraphim kept trying to tell him that. The message plays through, Sorey answering it verbally, knowing the other was there. Was close. Mikleo rarely if ever actually left his side through this. He just hopes it won't be too long before his resonance returns.]

That I can't help everyone. I know. But...I can't just leave without trying to do something. If we're taking away their chance to get their powers back and they struggle without them. We have to try teach them how to survive without their powers. Or -- as best we can. I'm not sure how much time there is going to be before....

[Before the next mission. Before they get some time to relax and recover in Oska before being sent elsewhere all over again.]

Let's focus on one thing at a time. I know how much you want to help everyone you can, but there's only so much we ourselves can do for now.

[ He just doesn't want Sorey to overwhelm himself through all of this. There's so much happening, and so much that Mikleo knows that Sorey wants to do for everyone. ]

I know. I just want to do something. Even if I might not be able to necessarily help fight, until my resonance returns. This much I can do, still help and feel useful.

[He's fairly sure things will work out. That it has to be a matter of when and not if that he would get his resonance back. It's just hard. But this is why he has Mikleo. To talk him down from entirely running himself completely ragged in all of it. Realistically, he is aware he can't be everywhere at once and helping everyone that needs it.]

[The voice that comes through the jewels is not as resonant as it would have been coming straight from Laedo's long throat, but that doesn't mean that it doesn't maintain some of the inhuman rumbling that someone the size of a dragon might be expected to make.]

Hm? Oh.....Well, I'm not sure if they might be busy right now. I meant, when they gave us the message from her and the Timeline.

I was informed of the Timeline before my arrival.

What I have informed myself upon since requires urgent reconsideration. If you have access to any of them it should be administered that we make way in that wretched ramble of a fortress for Nalawi refugees. It's the only way to ensure that they do not all perish amongst the wrath of these goddesses when some fool finally raises his hand.

Ah, well, I've never contacted them myself before. I only spoke to her the once. Maybe someone else who has been here helping ALASTAIR longer might be better positioned to talk to them? If they aren't too busy and give us a chance to explain the situation here a bit more, I mean. I can't be sure how much they know or if someone else hadn't already talked to them more recently since I did.

[What an inconvenience. They're here struggling amongst themselves to determine the fate of this world, and no callback numbers were given for advice?! Sickening.]

Enough. We shall have to make conventions to protect the Nalawi through whatever falls out of the fools who are planning on causing conflict. That means a safe harbor, one that can't be affected by the goddesses themselves or the unpredictable effects they might use to their advantage. Somewhere high, up the sides of the slopes, might suffice for the time being. Their sanctuaries must be provided for for several days, which means clean water above all else, food, and medical supplements. If the abomination is allowed to go through with whatever atrocities I hear dark rumours about, they will need to be protected with our lives.

Only once all of this is provisioned for may we begin to think about the long flight of their survival. You hunt, so hunt. Bring your catches to the center of town and I will fly the remains to a suitable location. We shall have to ferry these people up, and hope that others among us are wise to the ways of building shelter.

Well, we have construction and repair covered. So that should help them with repairing and rebuilding with this and any future storms even without their powers. And...I could teach them how to hunt, how to make use of the skin of some game. They might not have Prickleboars, but I'm sure they have other stuff too that is similar enough for me to work with. I'm not sure what others might have been teaching them. But if we ask around and all chip in, I'm sure we could cover a lot or at least get a decent start on helping them.

What 'bout stuff like farmin' and gatherin' water? I take it they relied a lot on their powers.

Yeah. Even some basic stuff it seems they really did rely on their powers. So helping with the water could definitely be on the list! I figured stuff like hunting and fishing without their powers might help a lot too, if they relied on their powers for food before. But water is just as important, if you wanted to help teach them that, or improve on how they are doing it now.

T'be honest, I don't really know how to gather water or farm either. But maybe someone does.

I'd prefer to help the people here, so if I may be of assistance, I'll do what I can. As for areas where I have some skill, combat, household tasks, and some tailoring aren't beyond my ability.

If those aren't needed, chances are if I can read about something or have it demonstrated, I can probably imitate it.

Even household tasks or tailoring, teaching the Nalawi those could help. Anything, really. They seem to have relied on their powers a lot before all this. So I wouldn't be surprised if they need help with some basics after that.

Just be reading about it or seeing something demonstrated? You must pick stuff up really easily! That's pretty impressive!

Are there any formal meeting times or locations for teaching them arranged, so far? I've heard references to assisting the Nalawi before this, but I wasn't sure how organized it might be.

It's not much, really. You could say I'm just an avid reader, and in my line of work, I was expected to improve quickly.

Meeting times or locations? I'm not sure. I think it's mostly been an individual thing everyone organizes themselves. Or, up until now. It couldn't hurt to get it more open though. Or er, official, I guess?

What is your line of work?

I'm an investigator for the CCG. I'd imagine that might not mean much around here though.

In my experience, organized efforts ensure more gets done.
