[The feed shows Law leaning on a table, in a much better mood than he was in his last address to the network. If you pay attention, you might notice Olivia puttering around in the background amidst an assortment of boxes.]
Now that we're all back in Oska with our powers restored, I'd like to formally offer my services as a doctor and surgeon to the team. Especially those of you with what you think are incurable diseases.
[A pause as he turns his head to answer a question from Olivia, inaudible from this far away.]
Just sort them by expiration date, if it's past the date then throw it out.
More importantly... [Law rests his chin on his hand as he turns back to the feed, inadvertently showing off his fingers tattooed with the letters "DEAT".... Given his username you can guess what letter is on the thumb. It's all the more sinister with that lazy smirk on his face. Literally nothing about him says "legitimate doctor."] For all you heroic and daring types out there, be a little more reckless, won't you? We've got to give Olivia-ya here some hands on practice.
[ This time you can hear Olivia yelp "Mr. Law!" In the background, but before she can protest further, he ends the feed.]

[Wait, hold on.]
What do you mean "wants of another sort?"
smh
[Translation: seriously wtf??? I just wanted to talk about medicine????]
Ah, but now you wish to listen further to my words. However, just as you gave no satisfactory answer to mine, so shall I give none to yours.
[These winged words he gives are touched with an air of superiority.]

But of course, I'm a pirate. Acting "uncivilized" is one of the thing we're known for.
[Just playing right into it with a smirk returning to his face.]
If you're not going to give me an answer, maybe I should just keep Olivia-ya as my hostage. That would be the "uncivilized" thing to do, right?
no subject
You dare insult my honor with these base threats laid against my lover? Perhaps no laws govern your people, so like a pack of wild dogs you are, but as for the Achaeans such an act of aggression as this would welcome war at your doors. Are we not of the same crew, accursed though it may be? Let go this pettiness and speak not such ill-begotten jokes.
[Ever heard of a little skirmish called the Trojan War?]
no subject
I don't know why you're comparing me to animals and then expecting me to behave as more than one. Olivia-ya trusts me, you don't think I could easily pull off this "joke" as a serious threat?
If it's a "war" you want, then feel free, bring your "army" to my door. See what happens. [The joke here being that you don't have your precious Achaean army here, sir. Literally fight me IRL.]
this is it, this is my comment
jk...
because of how law is positioned in the room, her entrance is made entirely visible to achilles, though law will have to rely on the sudden draft that the opened door brings in to know that she'd returned.
oh, also the startled squawk of surprise.
excuse me excuse me LOVER? WAR? SHE WAS GONE FOR TWO MINUTES???? ]
Um... [ her voice is far softer than both men's, especially riled up as they both are in the moment. still, it's that softness that allows it to cut right through the haze of testosterone. ]
What's... going on...

Olivia, why do you entertain the company of such a man as this? Even if he does indeed possess great knowledge of medicine - which I've not been allowed to ascertain, as he pays no heed to my questions and instead grants me only rude insults - but even if he were a man learned in these arts, I should not find him worthy enough to call your teacher. He threatens you and in doing so insults my honor further.
no subject
What, and because you don't find me "worthy" she has to seek her education elsewhere? Olivia is kind and soft-hearted but she's perfectly capable of making her own judgements and decisions.
[And now turning to Olivia to deliver the judgement.]
Regardless of how.... questionable [GESTURING AT ACHILLES] some of them might be.

sadly, the same cannot be said for actually-live-in-front-of-her law.
she finds her metaphorical feathers ruffling a bit, but in the haste of the situation, she is unable to discern what bothers her more: that two of the people she cares about are not getting along... or that they're both (whether directly or indirectly) casting aspersions on her own judgment about it.
tbh, it's probably both.
her cheeks puff a bit, lips pursing as she stamps closer, the contents of the box she's carrying clinking noisily. ]
I'm not entirely sure what happened here — [ but she can make a few guesses because SHE KNOWS HOW YOU BOTH CAN BE smh @god why are men like this ] — but it's probably a good idea to just clear the air right now.
[ she sets the box down and then turns to both men, arms folding under her bust. ]
So. Who started it?
no subject
It was this man who refused to answer my questions and thus sparked our conflict. I approached him as a fellow man of medicine wishing to know of the skill and wisdom he possesses, and so too was I curious to see what manner of man was this whom you sought as a teacher. He treated me to insult upon insult, revealing himself to be a most uncivilized dog. At last, when in my anger I returned his scathing words with mine own, he threatened to keep you hostage. What could I do under these circumstances but swell to such fury?
no subject
...
[His main problem is that he can't actually refute any of this.]
Well when you put it like that of course I'm going to look bad.
[Come on Law, better counterargument than that.]
There was no need for him to call me uncivilized just for not speaking in the needlessly verbose way her does.
no subject
alright alright... some damage control now. she takes care to keep her tone gentle, but there is undoubtedly a stern gravity to each word, the kind that most would find hard-pressed to disagree with. ]
He's not doing it to put you down, Law, that's just how he speaks. You have to remember he comes from a completely different time and place, so that's just normal for him.
[ a meaningful pause, wherein she turns her attention to both men. ]
You both have to remember that.
[ but olivia tries not to be too harsh about it; there had been a time, too, when she had briefly regarded both men with wariness, simply because of their abrasive attitudes. she knows not everyone has the patience to endeavor to see past that, but the least everyone could do, she thinks, is grant everyone the benefit of the doubt.
and if not, just walk away man. ]
Law — please stop antagonizing people. You're trying to do a good thing here, remember? The more healers work together and learn from each other, the better off this entire crew will be.
And Achilles... Please stop rising to the bait. We really can't afford any further in-fighting. [ especially after the mess that was nalawi. ] A leader like you knows which battles are worth picking and which [ she'll give law a pointed look now ] are just empty taunts.
[ NOW SHE WILL SIGH. YOU BOYS ARE GIVING HER A HEADACHE. ]
And I appreciate the both of you being worried, but I'm perfectly capable of making my own decisions. If neither of you trust the other man, then you can at least trust me.
[ and if she makes a mistake... well. she'll cross that bridge when she gets there. ]

In this you speak true enough, lovely-haired Olivia. It is the fair judgment of Zeus' bright-eyed daughter Pallas Athena which now breathes through your words and brings me to see what the blindness of anger once hid from my eyes. It must be that the gods robbed from me my wits. For indeed when aged Peleus granted me fifty ships and his Myrmidons to lead into battle against the horse-taming Trojans, he trusted that I should have not only the strength and bravery required of a warrior, but the prudence too of a shepherd of the people. And so these petty insults are but distractions from matters of true concern, weary though my honor was to weather such abuses, as even the smallest pellets of hail will inflict damage upon crops when each's influence combines in a storm. Thus I shall no longer pay these words any heed.
[Then he appears to deliberate, his thought process marked by the furrow in his brow. For she is not his wife, nor he her husband who over her wields command.]
I have not the right to forbid you from entertaining this man's company, nor any company that you choose to keep. If you believe him a doctor of worthy skill, and if from him you wish to learn, then I shall say nothing. But should harm ever befall you at his hands, then he knows well what fury he brings upon his head.
[This said, his hard eyes cut again to Law, then back to Olivia, softening.]
For the time being I shall hold faith in your judgment, Olivia.
[For what is faith but belief in that which one cannot see himself?]
