VIDEO. UN: LOKI
[ the sound of the wind storm hollows dully against the cave walls. Loki's squidge, Bacon, can half be seen crawling in the confines of his tacky green jacket and over his knee from where he sits, sometimes ducking and squeaking when a particularly large gust hits. to keep it from screaming, Loki offers his fingers absently, which the little squidge pulls on with its pudgy arms before ducking low again. ]
Hello there, it seems like we'll be waiting this out for some time considering the weather-type circumstances. While we're all rotting away, etcetera etcetera, I thought we could amuse ourselves with a game. A little bit of team bonding funtimes, so to say. [ he twists a dark nailed hand in the air, gesturing. ]
Soo—oo ... it's called Two Truths and a Lie. How do you play? Glad you asked, it's simple! Give two true statements about yourself and add a lie to the mix, shake it up then toss it out there and see if your team members know you well enough to spot the lie.
Usually this is done with copious amounts of alcohol, but we're lacking at the moment. [ pause. ] But—ah—you could always enjoy the satisfaction of being right. It's not like we're doing much else.
NOTE | Feel free to threadjack if that's your thing!! :****

That's a weird game, isn't it? Most of us don't know each other at all. How could we possibly know the difference?

[ Bacon reaches for the other squidge, and tumbles back down with a little cry before Loki sits it upright again. ]

She takes a long minute to think because she wants to brainstorm ALL OF THEM so it's not super obvious which has the makings of a lie because she had to think harder to invent it. ]
I taught myself to fly. [ Fly instead of pilot, and not mentioning spaceships—that makes it sound ridiculous and false, right??? Albeit, it's pretty intense even without the deliberate ambiguity, so... ] My name means "rat" in teedo. And I've never seen an ocean.
no subject
Your name doesn't mean 'rat', does it? That seems cruel.
no subject
No. "Rey isn't anything like what teedo sounds like. It doesn't mean anything to them at all. [ She ends with a smile. ] Hmm. I guess it is a good way, but it's hard, thinking of convincing lies. I guess not everyone would have that problem.
no subject
Does that mean you've really never seen an ocean?

Sweetheart, that's just real sad.

What kind of planet was that, exactly?

We got to get you some sea. It's an incredible thing.

At least it's not Truth or Dare. That game would have a very finite lifespan before some poor soul got dared to streak through the storm that's happening out there, and we'd all lose.

no subject
Um, it's basically that. A bunch of people sit around and take turns asking one another 'truth or dare': the person asked picks one, and the person asking then gets to either tell them to do something -- usually something wicked stupid -- or gets to ask them a question they're obliged to answer.
It's a terrible game, you really don't win either way.

[ Does that mean she isn't the most sheltered one here? ]
What would you like to know about it?
no subject
I hardly know. Can you see all the way to the bottom? Do people on planets with oceans never go thirsty? Does anything grow in it?
no subject
Some plants grow in it, close to the surface. Kelp and sea-weed, reaching for the sun in long vines. But the deeper you go, the less life you will find but for that you would not wish to. Sharks, whales, squid, and many kinds of fish all call it home.
[ She sounds and looks fond, reminiscing on her home. She's also partly thinking of Ryba, Nalawi's ill-fated sea goddess; what a messy meeting that had been. ]

But another spoke to me of swimming in it. Surely it can't be all fathomless and terrifying and deadly. And you as well—it sounds as if you find it very beautiful. What do you like best about it?
