I do not claim that anyone is innocent; that is subjective. What is important at this moment is that they could assist us in dealing with the Deemers.

We can afford better relations with the locals.

i am uncertain the locals would assist us over others of their kind, regardless of disagreements they might hold with them

why should we be expected to assist them merely because we are here?
i would not expect their assistance if we found trouble here
they have no reason for loyalty toward ALISTAIR or its agents
as we do not toward them
