[Sai hasn't entirely worked out how to use this whole magic jewelry network thing yet, but the thought-typing is relatively straightforward enough. So:]
is it truly wise to be rescuing the qorral ?
should a significant number of them perish, it will be far easier to complete our secondary mission of stopping the mining efforts

We're not here to cause undue harm, either by inaction or otherwise. Allowing people to die could have a much more widespread effect than you seem to be accounting for... Even on the most basic level, there's how willing they would be to work with us.
Not to mention, it speaks to the sort of people we want to be. I don't want to be so cold that I consider someone's life a matter of convenience.
no subject
this is a situation of their own making
why should they be owed our assistance? it would have occurred whether we were here or not
there is nothing undue about that
their cooperation is not particularly at issue either
currently, we are paying for our own living expenses
further, the qorral are merely incidental to ALISTAIR's current mission
should they cease to conduct business with us, it may prove harmful to them in the long run
[Because honestly, he doesn't think ALISTAIR is above wiping out the whole settlement.
That last part, though. He keeps hearing things like this, appeals for these people's lives that they do not even know. It reminds him of when Naruto and Sakura were so angry about that false story he fed them about teaming up with Orochimaru to rebuild Konoha in Danzou's image. But at least that was their village, with the people they shared "bonds" with. This, he doesn't understand.]
why do their lives matter to you? you are not of their world
they are not your friends

I think this is something that's more or less along the lines of 'better in theory than in practice'.
People don't like it when you suggest letting innocents die and all.
no subject
so i have seen
i cannot claim to truly understand their objections
[They remind him of someone, though. That would almost be enough to make him look into it on its own, but the context is just different enough that he can't wrap his mind around it.]
it is not as if i suggested killing them
[Which isn't like, an off the table thing, for Sai over here. But he also isn't a sadist; he only kills people when it's necessary. The Qorral's existence is largely irrelevant to him in either direction.]

I think you raise a very legitimate question! Whether you decide to help them or not is entirely up to you and I wouldn't hold your choice against you.
That said, we DEFINITELY shouldn't be helping them rescue their equipment! That's just plain silly. Personally, I plan to destroy whatever the earthquake didn't already get the moment their backs are turned!

Oh.]
that is an excellent idea
[It solves this whole issue rather neatly, Sai thinks. He was getting kind of tired of arguing with people about this, anyway.]
i will certainly do the same

And the primary objective: prevent the Deemers, by whatever means necessary. Will more die if they succeed?
no subject
we are unfamiliar with this dimension, and cannot know the consequences of completing our mission or failing to
however, we have no choice but to cooperate with ALISTAIR, should we wish to return to our worlds
the possibility that we may need to kill the deemers is not one we can discount
there is no need to harm the rest of the qorral as yet, but i do not see the use in going out of our way to protect them, either

Does human [or in this case, Qorral] mean nothing to you?

very little
i was never meant to be a person
"you have no name, you have no feelings, you have no past, you have no future. there is only the mission"

I agree with your line of thinking, but as you have just seen for yourself, humans tend to be empathetic creatures. To those who look human, that is, and the Qorral look human enough.

there's a difference between stopping the mining efforts and turning a blind eye to the death of the species.
besides, we don't know yet what is disrupting the timeline. the extinction of the Qorral could very well be why we're here. we ought to take no chances until we are certain.
i could've sworn i tagged this
the planet and its resources seem to be ALISTAIR's major concern
besides, the species is nomadic, isn't it? they were going to leave this planet soon enough with or without or presence here
