It's occurred to me that since our membership shifts and our backgrounds vary so much, it might be good to compare what we're capable of. More to the point, I was thinking we might be able to help each other pick up relevant skills, if not hone the ones we already have.

If people are looking to train or think they could help others, why don't we discuss that here? I know at least a few of us don't have backgrounds in combat, for example. On our first day here I met someone who wasn't familiar with firearms but might get good use out of the skill, for another.

In my case, I have experience training others and can help with hand-to-hand combat. I can work with people ranging from average human strength to well above it. I've got some skill with swords and knives, but I wouldn't compare that to someone who specializes in them, and that's something I'd like to work on. In terms of non-combative skills, if someone wants to work on something like cooking, I'm reasonably helpful there.

Let's see how we can help each other improve.

I remember the basics, but I believe there's more to be learned.

I suppose... perhaps it was simply my teaching. I confess, I'm probably not a very good teacher.

[ teachers are supposed to be confident in their skills, right?! ]

[ Sweats some more .... Lucina pauses, looks off to the side, before letting out a small laugh. ]

I believe... I took after father quite a bit, including my skills in handiwork. [ By which Lucina means: they have none. ] Whereas Inigo took after you, mother.

He's much more talented than I am at this — you were a fantastic teacher, mother. [ She just sucked at learning 99% of it lbr ]

[winces]

Oh... [ well. that's not nearly as discouraging as olivia had been thinking, but at the same time she can't help the small flare of disappointment that her future daughter would wind up growing up to be nothing like her... there's something quite sad about that, she thinks.

still, she attempts a smile, and a lighter tone. for lucina. ]

[ The way her mother speaks has her pause — had she said something wrong? Her eyebrows furrow a moment, immediately replaying her words, trying to figure out if she said something she shouldn't have...

But she can't recall anything ( doesn't realize that technically, Olivia has yet to meet Inigo, or truly meet her "Lucina", either. When she realizes later, she'll probably feel the appropriate guilt ). ] ... Thank you.
