It's occurred to me that since our membership shifts and our backgrounds vary so much, it might be good to compare what we're capable of. More to the point, I was thinking we might be able to help each other pick up relevant skills, if not hone the ones we already have.

If people are looking to train or think they could help others, why don't we discuss that here? I know at least a few of us don't have backgrounds in combat, for example. On our first day here I met someone who wasn't familiar with firearms but might get good use out of the skill, for another.

In my case, I have experience training others and can help with hand-to-hand combat. I can work with people ranging from average human strength to well above it. I've got some skill with swords and knives, but I wouldn't compare that to someone who specializes in them, and that's something I'd like to work on. In terms of non-combative skills, if someone wants to work on something like cooking, I'm reasonably helpful there.

Let's see how we can help each other improve.

... I do not mean to offend, however ... is there an advantage to single-handed armor?

[ She's not the first one to mistake his prosthetic for armor, and he's not bothered in any case. He just chuckles as he pushes up his shirt sleeve. ]

Ain't armor.

[ He's not willing to yank the thing off--it takes time to detach and reattach--but he'll show her where the metal joint fuses to flesh. There's quite a bit of scarring. ]

Just an arm.

[ She can't add up what she sees in front of her. No armor she knows of can fuse into flesh like this, acting as if it is an arm. What the stranger says only proves that; this isn't armor, but an arm.

But not just any arm. ]

... A metallic arm— [ It doesn't make sense. Give her a minute, let her at least wrap her mind around what she wants to ask. ] Does it... [ Hurt? Move the same way an arm would? ] ... Is it capable of sensing touch? [ She'll probably apologize for the rude questions and the bluntness soon, just... in a minute. ]

[ What kind of sorcery is this???? Also perks of having a flirt for a younger brother, winks definitely don't phase her anymore ( though is that because she has a flirt for a younger brother or is she just slow, that's a mystery in itself ). ]

I see... [ Another beat, then: ] Gods — I apologize for badgering you with questions. I admit, curiosity got the better of me. [ Which means: she'll stop asking questions, now. ]

I don't have a gun though. Is that a problem?

I'm good at physical combat. My team has their own weapons. We cover the spread that way.
