It's occurred to me that since our membership shifts and our backgrounds vary so much, it might be good to compare what we're capable of. More to the point, I was thinking we might be able to help each other pick up relevant skills, if not hone the ones we already have.
If people are looking to train or think they could help others, why don't we discuss that here? I know at least a few of us don't have backgrounds in combat, for example. On our first day here I met someone who wasn't familiar with firearms but might get good use out of the skill, for another.
In my case, I have experience training others and can help with hand-to-hand combat. I can work with people ranging from average human strength to well above it. I've got some skill with swords and knives, but I wouldn't compare that to someone who specializes in them, and that's something I'd like to work on. In terms of non-combative skills, if someone wants to work on something like cooking, I'm reasonably helpful there.
Let's see how we can help each other improve.
[ooc: Please feel free to thread-hop/jack here, that's what this is for!]

Like as in, the law? No friggin' way.

You know, there are a lot of names that are also regular words, I don't see what's so unbelievable about "Law."
i...
Just sayin'.
ASHER
Technically you can name your child anything but that's not the point.
Maybe it's a weird name where you come from but there are a lot stranger names in Big Blue.
[There's also a lot more normal names too... but it's all relative, isn't it.]
1/2
oh my god
[big bloo... sky? heaven]
you're dead aren't you
2/2

Don't just assume on your own that I'm dead!!
What are you even basing this on???

I hope this gloomy asshole is exactly how you pictured him. Definitely don't try to figure out what's written on his knuckles.]

The feed switches back to text, and all Law will get in reply is the following:]
suck my dick, motherfuckaaaaa
Text
Anyway I'm not dead
[Just... Ignoring that RUDE TEXT.]
Why would I be dead?
no subject
um????
ur username? lmao...
no subject
oh
no
no I picked this because it was shorter than "surgeon of death"
That's what the Marines call me.
no subject
so you're just... a reaaaally bad doctor?
damn, that's even worse than being dead
[says u, literally the shittiest law student 2 ever breathe air]
no subject
That's not it at all!
It's because of the ability I have, the way I use it to fight.
The Marines WANT to make us sound bad because to them we're criminals.
I'm a perfectly good doctor. Ask anyone.

(being totally sarcastic btw, lol)
no subject
that's literally the point
you DO know what "criminal" means, right?
no subject

[u don't wanna see his gpa after the first year tho
admittedly, some Things happened, he's still from a point in time where he cared about school]

[... Wait a second.]
Is that why you reacted so weirdly to my name?
no subject
[Translation: Yes.]

... Just "Trafalgar" is fine too, then.
[Literally no one here calls him by his surname but back home plenty of people do.]
