It's occurred to me that since our membership shifts and our backgrounds vary so much, it might be good to compare what we're capable of. More to the point, I was thinking we might be able to help each other pick up relevant skills, if not hone the ones we already have.
If people are looking to train or think they could help others, why don't we discuss that here? I know at least a few of us don't have backgrounds in combat, for example. On our first day here I met someone who wasn't familiar with firearms but might get good use out of the skill, for another.
In my case, I have experience training others and can help with hand-to-hand combat. I can work with people ranging from average human strength to well above it. I've got some skill with swords and knives, but I wouldn't compare that to someone who specializes in them, and that's something I'd like to work on. In terms of non-combative skills, if someone wants to work on something like cooking, I'm reasonably helpful there.
Let's see how we can help each other improve.
[ooc: Please feel free to thread-hop/jack here, that's what this is for!]

Then I'll follow this logic to its natural conclusion, which is.. presumably us becoming friends.
Which means "hanging out" and not arguing with me about the superiority of Percy/Pierre over all the other potential pairings in Camp Pining Hearts, because it's an argument you will undoubtedly lose.
[is this how it works. is she doing it right. STEVEN???]

YOU HAVE, IN FACT, FOUND THE MOST LOGICAL CONCLUSION!! THAT IS, THE ONE WHERE WE BECOME FRIENDS.
ALTHOUGH I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT "CAMP PINING HEARTS" IS, BUT PERCY/PIERRE DEFINITELY SOUNDS LIKE A SHIPPING THING. I'M GOING TO NEED A FULL, IN-DETAIL EXPLANATION OF THIS!!
[ Because he doesn't know shipping like Peridot knows shipping.
And soon, He Will Regret, surely. ]

She has this manifesto ready to go.]
Okay so. Percy is an unbearable clod who is extremely hung up on this even bigger clod Paulette, when it's clear they aren't a good match at all, but the show plays on the fact that they're from two rival sides of the camp, and that their "forbidden romance" is meant to bring the Colour Wars to a screeching halt, but it's ridiculous, because they're not a solid foundation for a united front.
Now Pierre is a brute. The biggest, toughest camper on the blue team, but who has a secret soft side and a surprisingly magnanimous personality. He and Percy have an arch-rivalry that is like no other, yet together they would absolutely rule the entire camp.
And... AND, while Pierre lays waste to every land-based event, Percy is unmatched in the water and a tactical genius when he isn't using all the time he could be scheming to make friendship bracelets. With Percy's brains and skill with water and Pierre's brute force and easy charisma, they represent the best match possible. I don't understand why everyone at Camp Clod is so blind to this.
The subtext is RIGHT THERE.
IM SORRY I HAD TO
I THINK I'D LIKE PIERRE BEST. I WONDER IF THERE'S A WAY WE COULD WATCH THIS?? I DON'T HAVE MY TV HERE THOUGH.
i love it
