It's occurred to me that since our membership shifts and our backgrounds vary so much, it might be good to compare what we're capable of. More to the point, I was thinking we might be able to help each other pick up relevant skills, if not hone the ones we already have.
If people are looking to train or think they could help others, why don't we discuss that here? I know at least a few of us don't have backgrounds in combat, for example. On our first day here I met someone who wasn't familiar with firearms but might get good use out of the skill, for another.
In my case, I have experience training others and can help with hand-to-hand combat. I can work with people ranging from average human strength to well above it. I've got some skill with swords and knives, but I wouldn't compare that to someone who specializes in them, and that's something I'd like to work on. In terms of non-combative skills, if someone wants to work on something like cooking, I'm reasonably helpful there.
Let's see how we can help each other improve.

Maybe?

Maybe, huh? [squinting a little at this text tbh] Ah, don't worry about it. It's good to think about it for a little bit before actually going through with it, anyway. It's not terrible but it can be bad for your hair over a long time if you're not careful. And there's nothing wrong with not minding the hair color your parents gave you anyway. I still don't mind mine too much either, actually...

Why do you dye your hair?
no subject
Well, a friend of mine suggested it a long time ago. Like you said, most people in Japan don't have hair that's this color. So we figured, this way, people would know who I am when they see me and have an easier time avoiding me.

Shizuo-san... I guess that's a solution, if people were afraid, or if you were afraid. But I'm sorry that was the reason you decided to make a change like that. Is it important to you to keep that even here?
no subject
Ah, mostly it was a matter of people being scared yeah...either that or not scared enough. Trying to keep anything from happening in advance seemed like the best way. It worked pretty alright, too, Tom-san has a lot of good ideas like that.
Don't be sorry, though, it's fine. I mean... [He shrugs, more to himself since Chihiro can't actually see it.] I guess around here it really doesn't matter as much, no. There's a lot of really strong people...and different hair colors too? But I dunno. It'd look kind of silly for awhile if I let it grow out...and I've gotten used to it by now. I guess it kind of looks alright?
no subject
Mm, I think your hair will look nice no matter what you decide. If it makes you feel nicer this way, then it's fine. But if you do ever want to try brown hair again... maybe we can find a dye that's the same colour? So you don't have to feel silly when it's growing out.
no subject
Hah, good to know my hair's okay right now at least. [Thanks Chihiro...he supposes if she likes it that much it can't be that bad, anyway.] But ah...I hadn't thought about that, actually? That's not a bad idea someday. I'd say I'm not sure where we'd find the dye, but I actually got some recently from that Lloyd guy, so I guess if I ever get around to it I'll just...ask him. Or something.
no subject
So he's both your friend and your boss, in a way? That sounds nice.
Mm! Yeah, if Lloyd-san is able to help, then that would be possible. But since you have the dye for your blond hair, that's good, too! Though how often do you have to do this to stay looking the kind of blond you like best?
no subject
Yeah, it's definitely pretty nice. I'm still sort of surprised he even wanted me around for work...but it's lucky either way. I'm glad it's with him.
Anyway, uh, it's every few weeks I guess? Maybe almost every month...that's when your hair's grown enough for your roots to start showing.
It's been kind of weird here though, like, I'm not sure if time is moving the same way or something? I keep losing track. But once you can see the old color it counts either way, I figure.

Maybe time is different in Oska? Or because of what we're doing, it doesn't feel the same to us anymore. I don't know... it feels like forever since I got here, but it's also only a month and a half I think.
[ Time distortion is a real issue tbh. ]

...And then he gives up because it's taking too long. Save it for later. Anyway--] The chances of that happening are pretty small, aren't they? But I guess it's possible. ...Might be better if he doesn't, though. Tom-san fits better in Ikebukuro.
Right, though, I guess time might be different? Science stuff...it'd be nice to have some kind of calendar around, honestly, but I don't know how that'd work in the first place.
...It does feel like awhile already though, that's for sure. Huh, hadn't figured it'd be this long to begin with...
no subject
I wonder if we could ask Lloyd-san or someone from back in Oska if there's a calendar there we can keep in mind even on other worlds. It might be nice. For celebrations, or festivals. There could be a whole lot of different ones people on this team might find nice to have be remembered.
[ Granted, even as she says that, it doesn't really occur to her birthdays might number amoung those. Ah... ]
How long has it been for you since being pulled into Oska?
no subject
Hey, that's not a bad idea though. A calendar would be damn useful...we're probably not the only ones that can't keep track of time right now. And holidays and things, yeah...
[Birthdays too, isn't it? Well, everybody could probably use a party every now and then. But ah, now there's this sort of question...and there's a bit of a pause.]
How long for me? Ah man...you know, I'm really not sure? Been awhile now, probably. Couple months...maybe more than that?
no subject
We should ask about a calendar then. Even if it's not one we know... it'd still be nice, somehow, to know what time we're sharing.
... Yeah, I think it'd be nice if we all felt like we knew the time passing by while we're this far away from home.
