[This sounds an awful lot like work.

Twisted Fate pauses, sighs, then knows he can't do anything to really refuse Koltira.]

You gonna make me do this every mission, aren't you? This. Do-gooder thing.

I would not call myself a 'do-gooder'.

[ He frowns. ]

I will also not make you do anything. But I encourage you to do what is right. What is needed.

...Yeah, okay. Let me rephrase. I know you wouldn't make me do anything. [That isn't the kind of man Koltira is.]

I'm not the kind of guy who's usually in a situation where I ought to. I'm a lot of things; definitely not a hero.

I'm not asking you to be a hero.

[ No one would put that label on a death knight. Not ever. ]

Only to consider the world beyond your own interests.

I ain't noble, or honorable. [In essence, he's so little like Koltira.]

I'm considerin' you. [To him, that's enough.]

[ He looks taken aback. ]

...I mean I care about your interests, Koltira. That matters to me. Even though I reckon half the time they may not always match up to what I normally care about, it matters to you. That's plenty enough for me.

Me. What I want. Been mostly alone for ten years, so I had no one else to worry about til 'bout now.

[respired]

[ Oh.

He murmurs. ]

[Immediately a million times more uncomfortable how public this is.

But he wouldn't shoo off Koltira. Especially when he's right.]

Still, I'm-- pretty happy with it being you and me. I care 'bout what you want. I haven't had to consider that for a couple of years.

[ Some part of him likes that notion. It wasn't dissimilar to what he had with Thassarian--just the two of them, bound by blood and honor. A loyalty that Koltira sacrificed everything to preserve.

He should not wish to be alone in Fate's heart. Fate deserves more than him, violent and ruined as he is. But he can't help the little, pleased frisson that runs up his spine, anyway.

[ On account of being imprisoned, mostly.

Still, he won't press the matter right now. ]

But I suppose that is a start.

[ He would like Fate to care more for the right thing of his own volition, but that's not something Koltira can control. ]
