Good evening.
[Though the subject matter behind his reasoning for addressing the networks was far different now than the first time he had the previous month, his even, dispassionate tone of voice is exactly the same.]
I've come to realize that the time in which we will be returning back to Oska is very close to—if not exactly on—the winter solstice. [He's used to a duo of sing-songy fae stopping by his house and giving him forewarning. He actually had to use a calendar this time.] Though I doubt all worlds follow the same laws and traditions, it is a day of great importance in my own. There are several rituals I am... curious if anyone would wish to help me carry out, to give us auspicious passage through the winter months.
As I don't think the old gods of winter have any particular sway over these distant realms, I am fairly confident nothing will be dangerous.
Please let me know if you might be interested, or if you might have any questions.

I would be honored to help!

[Elias might occasionally help out the English church, but he had no particular affinity for their religion.]
It is specifically the observance of the solstice and Yuletide. Regardless, I am appreciative for your offer, and I will be sure to contact you when preparations are to be made.
no subject
Still... I had not realized so much time has passed already. Solstice, huh? [ ... ] Also, should I be concerned with so many people wondering about blood rituals?
no subject
...Ah. [Brief pause. His tone doesn't really change from its typical impassiveness, though the words are slightly more hesitant.] I would imagine it would do something with my appearance. No, it is not a concern.
[He's been very good for the last few hundred years, thank you very much.]
no subject
[ Blink, blink. ] With your appearance?
no subject
That is a good way to look at it.
[Though part of it just makes him feel even more acutely Chise's absence.]
Ah... yes. [How to word this...] I am not human, and the appearance I take is rather frightful for most humans.
no subject
Oh. [ He doesn't sound Omnic, but-- ] Even so, your voice and words are kind. So, I'm sorry that people are frightened of you. I hope you do not feel discouraged.
no subject
[He says it in such a blase manner it's certainly not meant to incite pity. It's just the truth. Elias has had a few "friends," sure, but they were not particularly "normal" by human means. Everyone else was mostly... business.]
An interesting one, though.
[He didn't mind learning. He thought of it as continued studies in humanity, even though his primary teacher was absent.
He's somewhat amused by the thought of a stranger's condolences for something that was out of either of their control. It was that which was kind, not whatever Elias affected in himself to assuage people's natural fears. But, still...]
I do my best. [As close to a wry joke as he can manage, though it is the truth.] I've lived in such a way for a long while, so it's not much of a concern. I am appreciative for your words, however.
no subject
[ That's really all he can hope for this person, right? It's not really pity but he understands what it feels like to be an outcast. Probably not the same way, but this is a place that has accepted him so easily. So he can only hope that the initial suspicion and hesitation that people have toward Elias fades soon. ]
You're welcome. [ A soft laugh follows. ] Even so... ah, that's a bit depressing to say, so I'll move on. [ That is ... saying that someone lives long enough to not feel discouraged is rather unfortunate, isn't it? ] I'm sure that your good will is going to be seen by others!
[ In fact, he'll do everything that he can to ensure it does! ]

[If not something felt naturally, at least something he understood a little better. Elias lacked the human emotion necessary for true friendship.
It also meant he lacked what was necessary to feel depressed for his own situation. He'd never felt that way particularly—he had only seen reactions to himself as the way things were, and done everything he could to make it as easy as he could upon others (acting politely and kindly when he could, glamouring himself to appear human upon leaving the house). Without place in the worlds of human or fae, it was what he had learned to do.
But really, Genji, you are too kind.]
You are a very positive one. [The way he says it, it doesn't really sound like a compliment or a condemnation. Just an observation.] But yes, perhaps it will. It would be... nice, certainly.
no subject
[ By the way he responds, Genji takes it as a compliment even if it is meant as an observation. ]
The people here are good people... so I know that their feelings will change and you shall feel just as welcomed as I do.
no subject
[Hm. He wonders if his own pupil could attribute any positivity from his teachings. He should hope so, but...
"As I do." It's an interesting comment, but Elias sees to elegant way to pry, so he decides to file it for later.]
I shall do my best to keep this in mind, Mr. — ah, I don't believe I got your name.
no subject
[ He wonders if he should name him differently, though. ]
Oh. I'm sorry! I'm Genji. And you are?
no subject
Is he among our number here?
Mr. Genji. A pleasure. I am Elias Ainsworth.
no subject
[ Still so happy that his master is with them. ]
The pleasure is all mine, Mister Elias? Ainsworth?
no subject
[Very fortunate for Genji. It only renews Elias' frustration that ALASTAIR had seen it fit to separate himself and Chise.]
Elias is fine, thank you.
no subject
[ Hm! ]
Then Genji is fine with me, too, Elias!
no subject
[A sentient robot... Elias has to think on that one for a moment. He's actually not as technologically-inept as some people might imagine him, for an inhuman mage. He understood phones and computers and the like, though he personally did not use them very often. Nothing in his own world was as close to creating a sentient machine, however.]
Genji it is, then. [A short nod.]
no subject
[ He cheerfully replies. Ah, he wants to carry on about Zenyatta, but that's kind of embarrassing to do, isn't it? Not for him, but the Omnic. He could happily talk about him so much but maybe it is best to have Elias meet him on his own ... and see how great Zenyatta is with his own eyes and ears. ]
Right! So, please let me know when you need me, Elias, and... that's not just related to this celebration that you want to do, either.
no subject
Ah. Your offer is very generous, thank you.
Are there certain tasks that you are best-equipped in helping out with?
no subject
I'm a cyborg ninja. So, anything a ninja can do I can do better. [ A cheerful enough response that doesn't immediately say killing, at least. ]
no subject
Ninja... Elias gets the feeling that that's something Japanese, but it's not really ringing many bells for him. He's not exactly up to date pop culture and that sort of thing.
Admitting he doesn't know feels a little embarrassing so he simply replies,] I will call upon you at the first opportunity I should require a ninja's services then.
[Nailed it. Or. Well. He hopes so. He'll have to do some research later??]
no subject
Yes, please do!
