[ Here is Alice. Here is Alice trying to tune her lute and after a few strokes, Alice manages to remember a melody. ]

Ah, it surprises me, even now, I remember how to play it. It's been a few months.

[ It does sound a bit better after she's tuned it a few times. Maybe it was that out of tune? ]

And how the piano lessons I had as little girl have never really faded away. String or piano, music notes and scales are hard to forget. It's odd to think how much I used to loathe piano lessons as a little girl.

[ That's fine. Alice treasures them more as an adult, now. Especially this lute. ]

I recall some faces here in Osaka, but others... not so much. I do hope some of you have stayed out of some trouble, yes? I'm certain that some of you are already dreading the inevitable fussing from me.

Tell me, then, if you remember me... what did I miss?

[ That's her strange way of saying she misses some of you. ]

I'm still learning. Tomoyo-chan is better with music and all. She's in the choir for her singing and does competitions and stuff! But I'll see if I can help if you need it.

Playing an instrument comes easier for some than others. Sometimes, it comes easier with age, too. I can't say I was very good at the piano or that I would be very good with the lute. I'm sure, in time, you'll be just as good as your friend.

[ From what little she knows about Sakura, she seems to compare herself to her friend quite a bit. ]

You're very welcome to help me! I'll show you what I know a little of the lute so far.

I guess it would. With practice and experience, like anything. But I'll definitely come by then! Just give me a few minutes and I'll be over.

[digophelia]

So be it, Sakura, I shall be waiting here, in the meantime.

[keystaff]

I won't keep you waiting too long!

Don't worry, Sakura, there is no need to rush.

[keystaff]

[ooc: Here works then.

Even with Alice trying to reassure her, it doesn't stop Sakura from quickly pulling on some shoes and heading over all the same. She's missed her friend. So it won't be long before she comes and knocks at Alice's door.]

[digophelia]

[ The lute set aside, Alice makes her way to the door ot greet her. It's hard for Alice to show any affection, but the closest she gets to it is placing a hand on Sakura's arm. ]

That was quick. Come.

[ She steps aside and allows Sakura to come in on her own volition. ]

[keystaff]

Ah, I did tell you I was coming. I guess I'm just excited....

[Because she's missed Alice. Still, she at least manages to quite refrain from throwing herself at the older girl, simply smiling at the simple affection Alice gives. She knows the other girl is much less physically affectionate. So she simply reaches to Alice's arm as well, before stepping inside so she isn't still in the doorway, so Alice can close the door.]

[ No surprise here, Alice's room is already a bit of a mess from her going through what she had. Alice returns back to her lute, drawing it closer to her. She strikes a note and turns back up at Sakura with a faint smile. ]

It's fine, I haven't had a visit like this in a very long time -- in Oksa, that is.

[keystaff]

Mm, it's been a while for me too. We were at Perdition's Rest for a bit before we got back here recently and all. But it's nice, to catch up. To see you again.

[Even if she might still be recovering from the Deemers and all. Regardless, that doesn't seem to dampen her enthusiasm any. And she's easily able to ignore the mess, simply sitting herself down, elbows at her lap as she leans forward with her chin in her palms, listening.]

[ With Perdition's Rest behind them, Alice won't discuss more of it. She's since recovered from the Deemers -- for her, she's had worse and it's what pulls her through traumatic events like being shot. But Alice resumes the melody. With a lute, it takes extra attention to each stroke of the strings. ]

We likely won't be in Oksa for too long; we should make the most of it. What will you be doing in Oska?

[keystaff]

Hm. I guess making the most of the time to catch up and relax.

[Even with being shot, things were still pretty hectic at Perdition's Rest after all. So it's nice to get the chance to recuperate and figure things while back at Oska again. Still, she does respond, not quite so distracted that she misses what Alice asks as she listens to the music.]

[digophelia]

They don't give us much warning, do they?

[ Alice takes her time with each chord; while she remembers it fairly well, it takes quite a bit of concentration. ]

I don't know if I'll be fortunate enough to bring this for the next mission. I suppose I may as well make the most of it while I have it.

[keystaff]

At least we get a bit of a break in between. But you're right. We should make the most of this. Our time at Oska.

[Though for now, Sakura seems perfectly content in sitting and listening to Alice practicing. Each chord, each note that fills the air almost has her nostalgic in the way she always associated music and singing with her best friend back home.]
