[ Really, she had hoped to get her thoughts out about this sooner, but there are things she wants to Address and get people to think about now that it seems like a new year is upon them. It makes sense after the Christmas/Yule w/e celebrations that had taken place. For any that may know her though, she definitely seems very upbeat today. ]

Good day, everyone. [ It's the first time she's actually addressed the magitek like this though, which is why she tries to keep as formal as possible from the get go. ] My name is Sonia Nevermind, some of you may know me, others may not -- if that is the case, it is a pleasure to meet you now.

I was wondering... is it common for people of your worlds to make New Years Resolutions? This is where you make promises or goals for yourself for the new year.

For me, this year I hope to get stronger, so I may protect those I care about. I wish to learn more about medicine, to ensure that those with healing skills are not tiring themselves out. [ She's ticking these off with her fingers as she goes. ] I wish... to be more honest, about past instances that were beyond my control... but I feel are important to share with friends. I wish to spend more time with others, and learn more about the different cultures and languages we have within our team. If you were to consider this now... what would you choose?

Also, as we have been in good spirits recently, I also hoped we may try to get to know one another better with a game? There is one called "2 truths 1 lie", I believe, where we share two pieces of information that are "real" along with one piece of information that is a lie. As I understand, this is a hella good game to bond. For example: "I can speak 30 languages." "I have got a sister." "I can pilot a helicopter." Which one is incorrect?

Mm. I am a princess from the Kingdom of Novoselic--though I suppose saying that so freely means I can no longer use it as a statement either.

Though I agree that sometimes it can be problematic. A skirt in plaid is often not so bad, however.

I've encountered some folks of royalty before. Shame most of 'em don't really got your manners. [Although this is an eye opener and does answer some things for him.] Guess not, unless you wanna bank on someone not paying attention to our conversation.

That is a shame... It is a firm belief of mine that you should act with utmost dignity whenever possible. People have feelings that they wish others to take into consideration. I would kick myself if I were to offend someone because of my behaviour.

I'm gonna guess the second one. Seems odd to consider you haven't had friends til recently.

Though that is incorrect. The past few years have been rather difficult, so there were some months before then however until I was 16 I did not have friends outside of my staff. It is rather impossible when you have responsibilities as I have.

[Interesting. There is a pause as he considers this; it seems strange in his mind to think that is true, that Sonia didn't have friends until that age. Due to her responsibilities as a princess, huh?]

Well, all I can say is that I'm glad that's changed for you. You deserve a good set of friends.

[ "Friends" like staff are not to be trusted, you can speak to them about shows you have watched or dresses you might like to try... but you cannot tell them your heartfelt secrets or desires. That is something that changed when she moved to Japan. She spent nearly 3 years without her mind being her own though so there's also that as an influence. ]

That statement is the one that is correct. As much as I wish October 31--Halloween--was my birthday, it is not.

Hmm... [ She's thinking all over again, tapping her fingers on her knee as she considers the possibilities. She doubts he's stayed in jail for more than one night, at least. He seems like someone who even if he got into trouble would get out of it. So it's a matter of his eye colour (contacts or not contacts?) or the fish... ]

I didn't mind it so bad when I was a kid, but after you spend as long as I have with pirates on the open sea on what's essentially pirate island, you get a little tired of the smell and taste.

Enserio?! [ She wasn't sure because of the eye colour thing, but she does look and sound pleased with herself. Wow, she's on a roll here. ]

I had no idea that you have lived with pirates! Was it exciting?! Did you get to travel lots?!

[ Ah... she's so excited now I'm sorry. ]

I was a pirate for awhile. Definitely exciting, an' plenty of heists to pull across the world. Seems like we got a lot of pirate fans in Audentes.

I truly had no idea, though I have like many children read wonderous tales of pirates sailing the seven seas. Do you miss it? T-though if that is too much to ask, please feel free to refuse to answer that.

It's all right, I can tell ya. Sometimes I do miss it. I had a crew an' everything, and I felt like I at least always had somewhere to return to.

But, that was a long time ago. I usually work solo these days, til I got recruited to here anyway.

They seem like fond memories. Though I would say I am glad that you no longer need to work alone now. I think there is something positive in working together.

[ Mostly because even if the memories are fuzzy, being told to turn against each other and murder your friends is Not a Fun Activity. ]

There are pros and cons to either side, but I count my blessings for plenty of reasons for ending up here. I got a lot by bein' recruited.

Though that is an incorrect answer. I started growing my hair from birth, merely trimming it to keep it tamed. At this point I believe it is almost at my mid-calf?
