[ Really, she had hoped to get her thoughts out about this sooner, but there are things she wants to Address and get people to think about now that it seems like a new year is upon them. It makes sense after the Christmas/Yule w/e celebrations that had taken place. For any that may know her though, she definitely seems very upbeat today. ]

Good day, everyone. [ It's the first time she's actually addressed the magitek like this though, which is why she tries to keep as formal as possible from the get go. ] My name is Sonia Nevermind, some of you may know me, others may not -- if that is the case, it is a pleasure to meet you now.

I was wondering... is it common for people of your worlds to make New Years Resolutions? This is where you make promises or goals for yourself for the new year.

For me, this year I hope to get stronger, so I may protect those I care about. I wish to learn more about medicine, to ensure that those with healing skills are not tiring themselves out. [ She's ticking these off with her fingers as she goes. ] I wish... to be more honest, about past instances that were beyond my control... but I feel are important to share with friends. I wish to spend more time with others, and learn more about the different cultures and languages we have within our team. If you were to consider this now... what would you choose?

Also, as we have been in good spirits recently, I also hoped we may try to get to know one another better with a game? There is one called "2 truths 1 lie", I believe, where we share two pieces of information that are "real" along with one piece of information that is a lie. As I understand, this is a hella good game to bond. For example: "I can speak 30 languages." "I have got a sister." "I can pilot a helicopter." Which one is incorrect?

Gardening? [ She leans in a little more to look at it, before straightening up again. ]

I do often read, I was just surprised that is a topic you enjoy. Do you-- Did you garden often? I suppose there are not many places here to do it.

We both enjoy reading. I can always appreciate that. [He nods firmly.]

I garden whenever I can. You're right though. It's hard to find a suitable location for such things.

It is the same for me, too. Though ah! That is true. I have a potted plant in my room, do you think you could offer advice on how to look after it later? I am used to having a gardener.

That I can do. Plants need care just like humans. Neglect them and they may wither.

[They haven't spoken much, but he can tell that Sonia's kind. He'll help with her plants later.] We came here to train today though.

I have been watering it, but I am not sure what else I need to do.

[ Though she does let her smile drop after that, looking 100% more determined. ]

I am ready to rumble!

[ This is not a fighting game, Sonia... ]

We're going to put it to use. What's the weapon you brought? [She's been carrying it the entire time.]

I have this knife, I am afraid it is nothing longer. I usually use a gun, but in close quarters that is rather difficult...

That's alright. I'll teach you how to hold it for maximum effectiveness.

Guns are better for ranged battles anyways. What do you already know about fighting?

[Forgive him for thinking so, but he doesn't want to assume Sonia's suited for something like combat. At least that's his opinion. He could still be wrong though.]

Thank you. Though... if I say "I am not sure", would that suffice? [ Her smile wavers slightly. ] I would prefer to not go into detail, but it is very possible my body remembers more than my mind does.

I am physically fit, at least I am aware of that.

We'll see how well you preform in a small test then. Is that fine with you?

[He just wants to be able to gauge for himself what Sonia can do. At the very least, she's physically fit so that's always a plus.]

That is fine with me, yes.

[ Though she isn't really sure how ready she is, she'll do it if it's necessary to learn where to begin -- as she imagines what this is. ]

What shall I do for the test?

Try running around for a bit. We need to check your stamina, right?

That's one way of doing it.

[There are others too, but a simple sprint would never hurt anyone.]

Alright. I am able to do that. Would you like to time how long I am able to run for or did you have another form of measurement in mind?

[ She'll be fine with this, it's true. ]

Not specifically. Just run for about ten minutes. A light jog will suffice.

You're fit so it's not an issue. That will help get your blood circulating more.

[She'll preform better with a bit of adrenaline, or so he hopes. ]

[ She nods to that, the turns away. ] Then I shall be ready for whenever you give the signal!

[ Quite literally, she she leans forward like she's ready to start, rolling on her foot slightly. This would be easier not in heels but pretty much the shoes she owns... all have slight heels. ]

Are you going to go in that outfit? Pardon me, but I imagine that might be difficult.

[He looks down at her shoes in concern. DON'T KILL YOURSELF SONIA...]

I am afraid I do not have anything else. These are the strongest shoes I have... and I always wear a skirt.

If you feel tired then rest.

[He won't ask for anything unreasonable when she's not in proper footwear.]

[ She frowns back at him. ] This is actually better than the footwear I wore back at Perdition's Rest.

[ She then smiles, trying to reassure him. ] All will be well. No problemo!

[ Before he can protest though, she's turning around and setting off on her run. Not too fast, yet not too slow either. She's actually pacing herself well. ]

[He can tell that she's pacing herself decently. Julius looks impressed. Hard to see if she's tired or not just by that alone so he asks.]

[ Well it isn't like she's never had gym class... she's okay. ]

I am quite alright, thank you! [ Though trying to wave while running probably isn't the best of ideas, so that's short lived until she picks up the same pace as before again. Ten minutes doesn't seem too long at all though, when she returns back to him without too much trouble. ]

[He can start with the real lesson if she feels pumped and ready to go!!

She's doing her best, he can tell.]

A little, yes. [ Though she would argue she was already pumped and ready to go, but at least now her muscles are warmed up a little. ]

Yes, we may begin. Show me that weapon of yours again will you?

[He'll try to make it work for her. Julius takes a good look at it from his side. At least it seems like she'll be able to wield it well.]

Of course. Here. [ She reaches down to where it's been tucked back into her boot for running (thankfully padded so she doesn't cut herself smh) and holds it out between both her hands, palms flat. ]
