[ Really, she had hoped to get her thoughts out about this sooner, but there are things she wants to Address and get people to think about now that it seems like a new year is upon them. It makes sense after the Christmas/Yule w/e celebrations that had taken place. For any that may know her though, she definitely seems very upbeat today. ]

Good day, everyone. [ It's the first time she's actually addressed the magitek like this though, which is why she tries to keep as formal as possible from the get go. ] My name is Sonia Nevermind, some of you may know me, others may not -- if that is the case, it is a pleasure to meet you now.

I was wondering... is it common for people of your worlds to make New Years Resolutions? This is where you make promises or goals for yourself for the new year.

For me, this year I hope to get stronger, so I may protect those I care about. I wish to learn more about medicine, to ensure that those with healing skills are not tiring themselves out. [ She's ticking these off with her fingers as she goes. ] I wish... to be more honest, about past instances that were beyond my control... but I feel are important to share with friends. I wish to spend more time with others, and learn more about the different cultures and languages we have within our team. If you were to consider this now... what would you choose?

Also, as we have been in good spirits recently, I also hoped we may try to get to know one another better with a game? There is one called "2 truths 1 lie", I believe, where we share two pieces of information that are "real" along with one piece of information that is a lie. As I understand, this is a hella good game to bond. For example: "I can speak 30 languages." "I have got a sister." "I can pilot a helicopter." Which one is incorrect?

That is rather strange for me to hear, but I suppose that not everyone is the same either.

No. I think a lot of people in my world are pretty lazy.

New Year's Resolutions are more lip service than anything else.

Perhaps that is it. [ She does actually laugh slightly at that. ] I know that for a while many of my classmates refused to go to class, because it was not obligatory for us.

Do you think there is a goal you could set for yourself here that you would mean to keep?

I set myself a goal at home I'd live my life for me. I guess I shouldn't give up on that just because I'm here.

Not at my last school, no. It is a school dedicated to the future's "Hope"--Hope's Peak Academy. Teenagers are scouted from across the world for being top of their profession. In my class there are talents such as the Ultimate Animal Breeder, Ultimate Swordswoman, Ultimate Mechanic, Ultimate Gangster, Ultimate Luck... There are fifteen of us in my class.

Though I think that is a fine goal as well.

We are all the best of the best, our futures already written for us, I suppose? It is usually the case that we are unable to do anything but what we are best at.

What were you best at?

Normal teenagers do not, no. The reserve course teaches what you may expect. Maths, science, languages... this is merely a school to cultivate talent.

I was scouted as the Ultimate Princess.

[He likes Sonia a lot, but it's really hard not to sound like a jerk right now. It sounds ridiculous, and while he doesn't want to sound mean or sarcastic... he's not sure what to say that's not going to come off like that.]

I guess you must be really good at being a princess.

Yes. As my skills are based on diplomacy, protection and understanding diversity I am quite ahead of others who might also be princesses in my world.

[ To be fair though, she's gone above and beyond what a normal princess would know. ]

As I have said before, however, I would do anything for my people.

I'm just surprised. I figured royalty would be, like, home schooling.

Perhaps for some, however when I was in my home country I attended a school close to the castle where I lived.

Did you have to have private lessons for it? Or do you have a big enough family a whole class could be taught at once?

No it was merely a private school as you would see in other countries.

[ So they were all rich, at least. ]

I didn't think royalty normally did that.

My country is quite different from others, I believe.

In fairness it's not like I'm an expert.

We don't even have royalty in America.

No, you do not. That is true. I do believe it differs for me though... most countries do not follow the monarchy for their government now. Many have Presidents or Prime Ministers... my country has neither.

We have protected them for centuries. [ Though, she does frown. ] Though I admit we have many customs that I wish to change.

I mean... are you going to be queen someday?

When it is time for my parents to step down from the throne, I will be, yes.

I guess at least if they don't have democracy it's good they're going to have a leader who cares so much.

I would be willing to listen to what my people had to say. Actually, I am already considering changes for the younger generations.
